I haven't listened to it enough to write my own in depth review of it yet, but I absolutely love it and I could put it next to Arcade Fire's Neon Bible for an album that has truly lived up to hype for me.
Can't wait to hear the vinyl tracks when my discbox arrived.
& Anybody who thinks this was worth less than a few dollars, even if it is a download, I can not understand.

It's funny how many of the songs become more nuanced and interesting with more listens (15 Step, Nude, Reckoner) and some become even more banal (All I Need, Jigsaws...). I think the opening tracks leading up to All I Need are fantastic, from there it seems to dip in quality.
Oh, and this is just something that's been bugging me: why does Thom stop singing the words on "Videotape" right in the middle of the sentence? It doesn't sound right at all. "This is my way of saying goodbye cause I can't do it face to face so I'm talking to you before (WTF?!) No matter what happens..."

Thanks for the tip. I'm listening to it now. First impressions are pretty good. I'm not a huge fan, but I liked OK Computer. I wasn't crazy about anything after that, honestly. I am getting a bit caught up in the hype, and I think the marketing and distribution scheme is brilliant (notwithstanding the glitches).
I don't think this album will improve my dental hygiene, cure cancer, win a world series for the cubs or solve the arab-israeli conflict. I expect to have to listen to it more, before I really have an opinion on it.

I'm going to say this'll place in my top 10, maybe my top 5. It's very good.
It's not going to beat my top 3, though. Those have basically cemented themselves.
------ Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.

Yeah, it came out a week to late to save the Cubies. If only it had come out earlier!

Just finished first listen. It's very pleasant. I don't know if I've said that about a Radiohead album before. This time around, I don't get the "world is coming to an end" or "the government is holding us down" type feel. That's a good thing, since that was getting old on Hail to the Thief. Other than "Videotape," nothing really hit me emotionally on the first listen. However, the music was consistently enjoyable, and I'm sure time will strengthen my attachment to it. I get the sense that this will be a good introductory album for more mainstream listeners. It isn't mainstream, but there's nothing too bizzarre here (no talking robots for example). I'm looking forward to listening again, and further developing my opinion on it. All Radiohead albums have grown on me, and I suspect this one will too.
I really like that review, a lot. Then again, I have always liked the way that Rob Sheffield writes. It’s fresh and it’s true, especially this line--> “All of it rocks; none of it sounds like any other band on earth; it delivers an emotional punch that proves all other rock stars owe us an apology.”
I have it heard it now and it is pretty amazing. It touches and there truly isn’t any other band making as good, consistent music as Radiohead. The bookends are terrific and everything in between is just so good. There is not one weak track. Thom Yorke’s voice has never sounded better and it’s just nice to have an album from them. Definitely worth it and I can’t wait for the discbox to hear this on vinyl.

Was reading the umpteenth story about IR in "The Independent", and came upon this (to my horror):
quote:
According to bloggers, the album had leaked out on to file-sharing sites ahead of yesterday. However, the reaction by both critics and fans was positive.
On most discussion boards those who had downloaded the album found the urge to confess how much they had paid and argue against those who had stumped up more or less. "I bought Kid A, so this is pay back," said one fan on the BBC Radio 1 site, referring to one of the band's more challenging earlier albums.
Huh? That guy couldn't have been a MC forum member. We all love Kid A around here.

Nope, started going to a community college in January.. I was supposed to have graduated this past year though (or if you wanna get really technical then I should still be a senior, but I was put into kindergarten early)
