First off, someone needs to move this to the Alternative forum. Ritter's getting big and is on a major label. I've never been a big fan of his, but my little brother is. I know Stephen King named Animal Years his album of the year last year. I haven't heard the new one yet, though I've heard from everywhere that it's really different than anything he's done before.

Probably because it isn't out yet. Or else it just came out. My brother pre-ordered it and hasn't gotten it.

I haven't been a fan of Josh Ritter since he played Jack Tripper on Three's Company. Power of Three, baby!!!!!!!!

Because you're sensitive to John Ritter(may he rest in peace) jokes? I thought eric's joke was funny.

Okay. I get it. John Ritter. That's cool, their names sound the same and I never noticed. Anyway. Let me know when someone hears the album. I'm not looking for everyone to love it. I just want to hear someone else's opinion on it. What influences do you hear? What lyrical connections? What rip off melodies? What inconsistencies exist? Is it good, or bad?

Josh Ritter is not getting big. He may be on a major label but he's definitely not getting big. He should be, but isn't.

I still feel that the first Problem Child is just too funny. Some people despise it, I feel ashamed for not owning it. John Ritter was in some good stuff.

That could have something to do with Spoon being tons better than Ritter. I don't know though, sometimes the movies are hard to find at Wal-Mart. The Problem Child films might be under the children's side instead of comedies. Good luck and let me know if you find it!

So you prefer Ritter over Spoon eh? Well it's apples and oranges for me; I can't really say what's better when one was an actor and the other is arguably the best band of the decade. It's good to see that fans of his movies/shows/misc. projects are pulling together and supporting him though.

3000 posts, huh Fragile... Are any of them about something, or is this mostly the extent of your life on the board? Not that I'm complaining. Personally I love both Josh and his brother John, and I used to be a huge fan of their father Tex. But your obsession with John Ritter, and constant confusion is bordering on ridiculous.

My brother is an enormous Josh Ritter fan--he's probably his favorite artist (he even owns his self-titled debut)--and he says he doesn't really like Historical Conquests. That kind of surprised me, 'cause I figured he's such a fanboy of Ritter that he'd profess to like it no matter what it sounded like.
