Maybe this thread has died, but I find it really interesting that Sea Change seems to be everyone's favourite. I suppose it's surprising because it's not at all the kind of stuff he became known for. Still, Is A Woman is my favourite Lambchop album, and that's probably their least characteristic record. So I just contradicted myself... Anyway, thinking about Beck's albums as I write this, I think Mutations and Guero are by far the most enjoyable. Midnite Vultures for me was one of those records that's cool the first few times, but then reveals itself to be less than the sum of it's parts. Mellow Gold was great, rough and loose and just hanging together. But I do prattle on...

Hmmm, that's about exactly how I'd rank the albums, Sammo, except that I'd move Midnite Vultures from 7th to 3rd.

Don't bother with Guerolito, it's just a bunch of useless remixes, plus a crappy version of "Clap Hands."
One Foot in the Grave is an EXCELLENT lo-fi/acoustic recording with Beck and Calvin Johnson of K Records, I'd recommend it.
My list: 01. Odelay 02. Midnite Vultures 03. One Foot In the Grave 04. Sea Change 05. Modern Guilt 06. The Information 07. Guero 08. Mellow Gold 09. Mutations 10. Stereopathetic Soulmanure

Erm, ignore that. Nothing on any Beck album is useful in real life, but there's a gorgeous remix of "Broken Drum" by Boards of Canada and well done 'club' like remix of Girl on Guerolito. Also, the "Hell Yes" remix is better than the original. Most of the tracks are only worth a listen or two, but I wouldn't completely disregard it.
1. Odelay 2. Midnight Vultures (just a great time) 3. Mellow Gold 4. Guero (some great songs, some duds) 5. Modern Guilt (have only listened to it four times though, so this ranking could easily change, up or down) 6. The Information 7. Mutations (need to give it another chance) 8. Sea Change (have never been in the right mind set to really listen to it... just doesn't sound like Beck should to me)
