A girl I work with is the biggest Primus freak ever, I'll ask her and get back to you.

and as far as bitchin' albums to check out - start at the first one and go through them all. My favorite from Primus is Sailing the Seas of Cheese and Pork Soda - all of their albums have a different sound so you really need to listen to them all.
For side projects from Les Claypool listen to Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains - The Big Eyeball in the Sky (it's sooo good!) and also check out Les Claypools Flying Frog Birgade.
The websites will tell you everything you need to know.

You're right, it's that exact name. There is another one called something like: "Colonel Les Claypool and the holy mackerel" during the first solo project of Les, which include 2 live albums...
There's some great tracks on Highball With The Devil(The Holy Mackerel album), especially Me & Chuck with Charlie Hunter! The Frog Brigade and Bucket of Brains albums are pretty weak compared to the Primus catalogue. The Oysterhead project with Les, Stewart Copeland and Trey Anastasio showed potential and had some quality tracks on it, despite my hatred of all things Phish related! I think Suck On This is my favourite Primus album, it captures the band the way I remember them the most fondly. I vastly prefer Tim Alexander's drumming to Jay Lane's.
"If it were beneficial, their father would produce children already circumcised from their mother. Rather, the true circumcision in spirit has become profitable in every respect." -Jesus, from the Gospel Of Thomas
Yeah, I have to admit that i prefer the first Primus albums. Since Tales, it's still good, but doesn't show enough energy and crazy vocal noises by Les compared to before. Brown album is a good example: that album could have be as good as "sailing the seas of cheese" but the motivation was not there.
