On Wednesday June 13, Ed O'Brien posted on Dead Air Space:

"Yes I know its been a while ..... but we've been working on this album for a while ...... BUT WE ARE NEARLY THERE ....."

Two days later, Nigel Godrich posted a sampling of the album. It does not stream very well but it is NEW Radiohead material. My point is that this album might actually come out this year. So lets all get excited and dance like Thom Yorke.

my god, i can't wait for this album.

regarding the song fragments, I found some links where somebody apparently pieced together the fragments to make more substantial samples.

http://www.citizeninsane.eu/audio/cuttingroomopenpick1.mp3
http://www.citizeninsane.eu/audio/cuttingroomopenpick2.mp3
http://www.citizeninsane.eu/audio/cuttingroomapigsear.mp3
http://www.citizeninsane.eu/audio/cuttingroomallineed.mp3
http://www.citizeninsane.eu/audio/cuttingroomditnu.mp3
http://www.citizeninsane.eu/audio/cuttingroomarpeggi.mp3

the one marked "all I need" sounds the best, while "ditnu"(whatever the hell that is) and "arpeggi" sound pretty awesome too.

"Ditnu" = Down Is the New Up
I wonder if in fact these are all appearing on the new album - who knows... Anyway, here are links to the full songs performed live last summer:
"Down Is the New Up"
"Open Pick"
"Arpeggi"
"All I Need"
You can get lyrics to all of these at www.greenplastic.com - All I Need is my favorite of this bunch but who knows what they'll sound like recorded.

Ha ha, a bunch of 5 second samples? What other band would anyone do that for? In all seriousness, the live version of "Apreggi" sounds extremely good.

Still, I'm highly doubting that this album is coming out this year. I'd love to see a new Radiohead record in '07, but I just don't think it's going to happen.

they said they're "almost done", and there is quite a bit of the year left...but it's possible they don't get it out.

and I would do the 5 second samples for most of the bands I truly love.

The rumor is November, but knowing Radiohead, that could be November 2009.

First, from ateaseweb.com

"In other news, NME reports that Radiohead’s new album is definitely finished and refer to their upcoming issue (this Tuesday) for more news."

Second, from the "very reliable" wikipedia:

"The new album is titled "Autonomia" and will be released September 17 in the UK, September 18 in the US"

I just want to say the obvious that I somehow avoided in the last post: all of the above is pure speculation and is not factual. Radiohead has not announced anything officially.

My personal opinion, I think things are wrapping up and we might have an actual album by the end of the year. But I'm an optimist.

I wish we got more information about this. I'm pretty excited to see what they've done in the last 4 years.

Also, I'm kind of sad that I couldn't post in the indie rock thread about this, just because the poll selection "I don't care, I have AIDS" was kind of funny.

What a happy birthday, Chamberk! Its such a lovely surprise that they pulled this one on us with 10 days notice. Just like Radiohead...

There is another thread going on here too. It would make much more sense to post there.
