This band is going to be the next "Big" thing in mainstream alternative music. Just you wait and see. Their album comes out May 23. People are going to eat up their record like a crack head eats up, or smokes up crack.

My personal critique: I still have bad Blink 182 flashbacks when I listen to the lead singer(the lead singer from Blink182), I really hated Blink 182, but musically, this record is a real treat. These guys have really put together a sound that works, it's fresh, and enjoyable.

Did you hate a certain period of blink 182's career (self titled album was the worst) or the band as a whole? Cuz it seems kinda odd to like a tom delonge sideband but hate blink 182. Also, what do you think of Box Car Racer?

hmm, you seem to you know an awful lot about crack. It's ok, the people at serenity lane are there to help you. Big Grin

Was Tom Delonge the singer for Blinkk 182? I always thought it was the other guy, Hoppus.

Either way, I like the single from the record. I'm curious to hear more. I'm not a B-182 hater, but I'm also not a big fan.

Angels and Airwaves sound nothing like Blink 182. And that's what really impresses me. Obviously, this wasn't some tom delonge side project but rather a whole new direction with an entirely new band that has their own creative chops.

Kind of like Deathcab and Postal Service, the two bands have very different sounds. But like I said, i'm not a fan of delonge's vocals as they make me think of that bubblegum pop punk that Blink played.

But "we don't need to whisper" is a hell of nice album, Blink vocals or not.

I've never heard Boxcar Racer, do you recommend them Lordsmoogsbottom?

Box Car is one of my favorite albums that Tom put out for any band... It's much darker and much more mature than anything Blink ever released.

But I know many people who didn't like it, so I suppose it's just a matter of opinion. I suggest you at least give it a listen.

maybe give them a listen sometime. I like em but i dont know if u would. The band is Delonge on guitar and vocals, travis barker on drums, and two guys I havent heard of on second guitar and bass. Delonge said he started box car because he had all these ideas for songs, but they werent compatible with blink 182, so it literally was a side project (I guess A's&A's arent, my bad). Their songs are still pretty simple musically, but aren't about all the happy-go-lucky pop things blink songs were about, but more darker stuff.

feel free to ignore this next part

They were both lead singers, which is pretty rare in rock music. Notice how Hoppus sings on "I miss you" and delonge sings on "Violence"
