Just browsing the new movie releases and saw that Meet the Spartans has a metascore of 8. Has anybody seen this? Somebody has, because it was the #1 movie of the past week! What is going on in this crazy world? Given the choice of seeing this or the new Rambo more people selected Meet the Spartans. Neither choice is great but I would much rather watch Rambo slaughter everything in his path than this garbage.

People find Meet The Spartans comforting....these guys release the same movie, with differing details, every 6-8 months, and people flock to see it so they don't have to figure out new plots. Even better, the jokes are just straight-forward riffs on pop-culture shorthands that they've already been bombarded with, so NO thought is required! Whoever thought up this formula is a base-level film-making genius, and is probably rolling in cash right now.

The only reason Meet the Spartans recieved such high box office hits was because of curiosity. Date Movie and Epic Movie were awful so I didn't even bother wasting my money watching the worst movie of the year. Meet the Spartans was terrible becuase all there is was pop-culture references which people already find annoying enough.
