This section has looked pretty stagnant for a while, so I thought I would start a new discussion that could spark some conversation.
My favorite scene out of all three films has to be when Boromir kept fighting off the Orcs to protect Merry and Pippin. The music was beautiful and it was a total redemption for the character.
One other scene that makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck is when the Riders of Rohan are charging down the hill at Helm's Deep at the end of The Two Towers. It gives me goosebumps whenever I see it.

I've gotta say I love the scene near the end of Fellowship where Frodo has told Sam to go home because he has to go on this journey alone. Sam starts crying and runs out in the water after Frodo, nearly drowning. I get teary every time I see this scene. Such a great testament to friendship. So many others...

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back. -Face
Even if it seems logistically impossible (food, supplies, etc.), the lighting of the beacons scene in ROTK is a favorite because of the music, cinematography and editing. Also, just about all the scenes with Gandalf strike a chord, whether he's being wise and friendly in the Shire, taking on the Balrog (loved that in both "Fellowship" and "Two Towers", or riding into Minis Tirith.

First of all what is rotk? Return of the King? That's a weird abbreviation. That was way too long. If I had to pick a scene, it would be when Golem bit off Froodo's finger, that was so great. I laughed so hard.

I loved the EE scene with the Mouth of Sauron. Bruce Spence is my king! He's on a roll, I tell ya, good performances of the two greatest trilogies of the decade. TC, I'd say the Amon Hen scene from FOTR.

I also like the lighting of the beacons in ROTK. Another favorite is in FOTR in the Mines of Moria where they encounter the Balrog.

FotR: The end of Elrond's council and the beginning of the journey, the music blends perfectly from one to another, and the scences with them on their way to Mordor are so evocative.
TTT: The March of the Ents, no boubt about it, perfect music for the perfect scence, lots of power behind it.
RotK: Again, the beacons. In my opinion, the best music of the entire trilogy. Go Howard Shore!

Even though it plays out a little differently between the original and the extended edition, I love the part where the Rohirrim (sp?) arrive at Gondor. I favor the cinematic version where Gandalf hears the horns in the middle of the fight and the scene cuts to the riders coming over the hill. Theoden's speech is the best of ALL TIME.
The close second is when Faramir and his men charge the garrison while Pippen sings for Denethor.
FotR- For enjoyment I love all the stuff at Rivendale, but I think the best scenes are the one where Gandalf "dies" and they come out to the very sad music, the one where Borimir has loads of arrows sticking out of him and is trying to defend Merry and Pippin, that's really moving, and then the one where Frodo tells Sam to go but Sam follows him and nearly drowns.
TTT- The most moving is the one with Sam's speech at the window near the end of the film, the music and the words and the scenes go perfectly together. I also love most of the scenes with Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli, like the one where Eomer corners them with his Rohirrim, both funny and interesting.
RotK- Ahh so many scenes in this film...erm I LOVE the scene where you see Faramir charging towards the Orcs and it keeps cutting to Pippin singing that amazing song and Denethor eating like an animal. VERY clever and moving and just excellent. Also all of the stuff with Frodo and Sam on Mount Doom is incredibly moving and I love all the stuff after the ring is thrown into Mount Doom coz it's really happy and some light relief from the intenseness of the rest of the film.
There are so many more I love but I didn't want to waffle on tooooo much
