tom bombadil is my favourite charachter in lotr, and i don't know how long it's been since the first movie came out, but it still eats me uo that they cut him out! he was awesome. what do you guys think?

Yeah, me too. I was so looking forward to who would play him! I really thought it would be impossible to cut him out. I loved that character so much that when a friend of mine FINALLY talked me into playing D & D I named my character after him! This kinda pissed him off because he didn't think it was a very good fantasy name. I told him 'The Lord of the Rings' was a fantasy book so, this name was just fine. However, he disagreed that a Stone Giant would be named Tom Bombadil.

It was alright, though, soon I was tossed out of the game for playing to close to my Chaotic Evil personality. I mean, he told me I would gain more experience points if I just remembered to stick to my behavior. I guess I did too good a job because when I turned on the rest of the team, the Dungeon Master had a big swamp creature come up & kill me. RIP, Tom Bombadil, RIP.

Tom was the type of character that could easily be cut in a movie. Too much explaining had to be done about Tom.

he was fun to read about but then the story just passed him by with all the intrigue, action and so many other characters.
