Yeah, me too. I was so looking forward to who would play him! I really thought it would be impossible to cut him out. I loved that character so much that when a friend of mine
FINALLY talked me into playing
D & D I named my character after him! This kinda pissed him off because he didn't think it was a very good fantasy name. I told him 'The Lord of the Rings' was a fantasy book so, this name was just fine. However, he disagreed that a Stone Giant would be named Tom Bombadil.
It was alright, though, soon I was tossed out of the game for playing to close to my
Chaotic Evil personality. I mean, he told me I would gain more experience points if I just remembered to stick to my behavior. I guess I did too good a job because when I turned on the rest of the team, the Dungeon Master had a big swamp creature come up & kill me. RIP, Tom Bombadil, RIP.
"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the
terrifying lows, the
dizzying highs, the
creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the
blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called
'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this
Monkey_Boy?!"
