Ok, ok, ok. I am a HUGE LOTR fan, like you wouldn't believe. But, I do admit that the movies don't even come close to living up to the novels. If you didn't like the movies, try reading the books. They are incredible. I had read them a few times, but after taking two Tolkien classes in college, my love for them has skyrocketed.

If you don't love the books, that's when I have to say that you're just incapable of abstract thought and emotion.

But I'm with everyone who says that LOTR isn't "all that," and shouldn't have won so many awards. I agree. But Jackson did the best he could to try and make the movie both a fan- and novice-friendly experience. The slow ending of ROTK people talk about could only, actually, have been LONGER. (Read the books!)

A movie will almost never live up to the book, and you just have to appreciate the movie for what it is - and that's a pretty good epic.

YES! The movies are so amazing. But the books are even better! I'm reading them now for the second time and they are so great. Seeing the movies for me actually makes reading the books more enjoyable.

I really need to read the books because I love the movies so. But Krafty, you dont think they should've won all the awards they did?? I do, and I still consider them some of the best movies of all time.
