Can anyone help me out? About a year or so ago, I remember hearing a radio segment (NPR) about this obscure singer-songwriter. In order to obtain his CDs you had to request them via mail order, so they were very hard to come buy. Also, he performs live, but apparently not with a touring band, so he randomly plays with local musicians (something like that). There was a tribute CD that came out featuring Ryan Adams, Jeff Tweedy, and others. I think he had a one word stage name.
For some reason, I've been thinking about this, and I'm at a loss trying to figure out what this guy's name was. It was sort of acoustic based and folky, but a little jazzy and psychedelic. Any ideas?

-------------------------------------------------- I have no race prejudices, and I think I have no color prejudices nor caste prejudices nor creed prejudices. All that I care to know is that a man is a human being—that is enough for me; he can't be any worse.

Ditto what RL said. Down In A Mirror: A Second Tribute To Jandek features Tweedy, Okkervil River, Mountain Goats, etc. Don't recall Adams being on any Jandek tributes.
