Their debut, the Tin Type EP was great, and had me really excited about their debut full-length. When Ambassador came out though, I listened and was disappointed. Now their second full-length, Mountain Meadows is out, and it is a stunner. It's a batch of hard-boiled Americana. The singer has a raw, slightly high-pitched voice and half yells, half sings most of the time. There are some more relaxed songs as well. Lots of banjo and bootstompers. I'm normally into more downbeat Americana, but stuff as catchy and triumphant as this new album is would appeal to anybody I think. Definitely check this one out if you're into Americana music at all.

They did in store performance at the record store I work at and they were awesome. This is their best album by a wide margin and it's a beautiful release. They will also doing a free show on Canada day in Toronto.

Oh man that's me! Sweet, I'll be sure to pick it up. So many good records out recently that it's hard to keep up (The Burning Hell and Micah P. Hinson especially)!
It ain't hallelujah, but it might as well have been.
