I think Pink Moon is his most cohesive album, helped Im sure by its brevity.

At the moment my favourite would be 'Bryter Layter', but it seems to change to 'Pink Moon' quite frequently on some weird seasonal basis.

I like all 3, but Pink Moon's my favorite. I went through a few months where all I listened to was Nick Drake, and they all sort of melted into each other.

My band is currently performing Cello Song and I have tried Parasite and Fruit Tree solo in the past.

I can tell now that my favorite Drake album is Pink Moon, it's simply a masterpiece. My favorite songs on Pink Moon are Road, Which will, Things behind the sun, Parasite and From the morning. Followed by Five leaves left and then bryter layter. I think bryter layter is a very good record, but a bit too over-producted. But it includes probably the best Drake song, which is Northern Sky. so:

Pink Moon 9.5... if not 10/10

Five Leaves Left 8.5 - 9/10
Bryter Layter 8 - 8.5/10

I'll have to check him out. Call me uninitiated, but I just realized last month or so that Nick Drake is not Nick Cave. I had them combined in my head for some reason.

Lucinda Williams is actually a tad more masculine than Banhart.

It's hard to pick a favorite Nick Drake albums, but Pink Moon has got to be it, very closely followed by Fives Leaves Left. Pink Moon absolutely breaks my heart everytime, but in a way makes me question why I listen to so much sad music. But I've always like Fives Leaves Left and recently I've been listening to it a lot, in between all the post-punk I've been trying to consume. The thing about Nick Drake is that is he's shockingly consistent. I can honestly say I've never heard a song of his I didn't like, but early death can do that. In a sick way, I like that didn't go on to desecrate his career later, like so many of my other favorite artists (Joni Mitchell during the eighties, I'm looking right at you).

Pink Moon is easily my favourite of his albums, one of my favourite albums ever, made all the more poignant by the state he was in at the time he recorded it.

However, two of my favourite Nick Drake songs are Hanging by a Star (the solo on this was nicked by Spacemen 3/Spiritualized time and again) and Black Eyed Dog, both recorded just before his death and found on the also excellent Time of no Reply compilation.
