I've just discovered this band called Travel By Sea, and it's some of the best folk/alt country stuff I've heard in a while. The album came out this year and it's called Shadows Rise. They've got some songs playing on their MySpace Page. There's a nice mix of sad, medium, and upbeat songs on the album.

The band is just two guys who have never met each other, one from California, the other from Colorado. The artists they list as influences on their site include: Centro-matic, Neil Young, Elephant Micah, Jeff Tweedy, Iron and Wine, Damien Jurado, Mark Kozelek, Jason Molina, Richard Buckner, and South San Gabriel.

This is definitely a top 10 album for me so far this year, and will probably be in my top 10 at the end of the year, possibly even top 5. I'm really excited about these guys. Hopefully, enough people buy their album so they can keep making records.

Hey, Raving, when are you ever going to listen to the Beatles and learn the true beauty of music? You can start innocently enough, with Rubber Soul.

The true beauty of music? Pfffftt. Everybody knows that music sucked until the last 5 years. Stop living in the past, Mark!

And what are you doing up so late? Or should I say so early? I thought I was the only one with a messed-up sleep schedule.

They are beautiful, and I can't find them anywhere!!

The music industry is so frustrating at times; why is resorting to illegality my only option?
