I've been real surprised at some of the reactions I've seen to Rabbit For Coat. I thought that it was a really good approach to folk music. Reminds me of the southern gospel that makes my dad cry (the only time's I ever see him cry) and the album Old & In the Way that has a lot of history with me.

You should rent the movie Foxfire. There's a pretty good scene with Lewis, Angelina Jolie and a few other girls. If you rent the film, you'll know the one I'm talking about Wink

Wow, she has decent little acting career under her built. All small-time stuff, but a good amount of it. Perry mason? Twilight zone? Murder she wrote? Niiiceee.

Yeah, she was actually a child actress. Like B0arder said, most of it was TV stuff.

I thought it had some great songs on it, but I was disappointed on the whole. I need to give it another try. I recall the title track bugging the shit out of me.

I listened to it again today, at work, and I liked it more than I remember liking it last time. I'll give it more listens.

I agree that the album didn't catch me the best the first time around, but everytime I listen to it I find something new that I like. Still doesn't match up to Rilo Kiley in my opinion, but songs like "Rise Up With Fists," "Happy," and "Melt Your Heart" just keep growing on me. Nice and simple, potent lyrics, and just an overall powerful album. I'll be interested to see whether she continues to work with the Watson Twins in the future.

Speaking of which, has anyone heard their debut EP Southern Manners? I've heard a few tracks, not too bad, but it didn't really hook me in. Maybe in time it will.

The album's a really nice listen. Not something I'll listen to on a really regular basis, but when I listen to it, it sounds pretty nice (and sad).

And yeah, Jenny Lewis is a cutie. Met her at a Rilo Kiley show and was starstruck Red Face
