I think the subject is clear. Here is a place where you can discuss anything about the folk artist. I created this topic to learn about that guy, so it will really help me if you can tell me which are the best songs/CDs/DVDs about him. I really enjoyed the folk stuff he did, but he don't seems to be compared to Springsteen, Dylan, etc.
For many years, Catch the Wind was the only Donovan album I owned. Then in the early 90s I picked up the double cd Troubadour: The Definitive Collection 1964-1976. Here's the track list:

Rock And Roll Souljer # 19. Quest, The # 20. Age Of Treason - (previously unreleased) # 21. What The Soul Desires - (previously unreleased) # 22. Dark-Eyed Blue Jean Angel
After hearing this collection for awhile, I picked up a couple Donovan back catalogue albums, such as Barabajagal, which I liked, and Cosmic Wheels, which I liked enough songs to keep the album but I can't really recommend. Troubadour is still in print (as is an expanded version of his 1969 greatest hits album). I enjoyed both the hits, the unreleased material and the songs I wasn't too familiar with from Troubadour. The collection is reasonably priced these days, so I'd give it a nod as a good beginning spot for Donovan.
