Does anyone like E.S.T.? I saw them in Paris last October, and it was one of the most incredible gigs I've ever been to. They played a lot of Viaticum stuff naturally, but threw in some older tunes aswell, and one or two sublime covers . The Unstable Table And The Infamous Fable from Viaticum might have been the cream of the crop though.

A Scandinavian jazz trio, who also incorporate electronica into their sound, ie. using effects to treat the bass, piano, and drums. It really is very beautiful, emotional, top quality stuff. But perhaps they have yet to hit it on the US scene. Not to worry... Wink

Ah... the Esbjörn Svensson Trio... I saw them on the Limburger Jazz Festival. They are great! But the other album "Seven days of falling" I do like even more than "Viaticum", mainly the tracks "Evening in atlantis" and "Did tey ever tell cousteau?".

Yes I just heard them the other day. Fantastic band, some of the best piano jazz ever. The new stuff is a bit different though.

I have just discovered this thread.

EST are fuckin awesome. As good as electric Miles at his peak.
