Jimmy Smith-S/T Hank crawford-Dont you worry bout' a thing Ramsay Lewis-Dont it feel good Cat Stevens-Teaser and the firecat Grover Washington Jr.-A secret place Gato Barbieri-Caliente! Johnny Hammond-Wild Horses Rock Steady Santana-Abrava The Brecker Bros.-S/T Joe Henderson-Canyon Lady Maynard Ferguson-M.F Horn Grover Washington Jr.-Inner City Blues Stanley Turentine-Have You seen the Rain Carlos Santana & Alice Coltrane-Illuminations Deodato-Prelude Sonny Rollins-Horn Culture Art Tatum-Piano Starts Here
I am really liking Maynard Ferg alot more.I have been listening to these albums with my pops some of the time.Well i put it on and crank it loud and he cant help but come down. But yeah it is easier for me to grasp an older album or artist when i can picture him or her.Like a thought or memory or something like that. Like all my albums now i can associate with a time or a situation i was in...an there is always a story.Especially if i have seen them live.I think those are the best stories...ones that are involved in how or what happend on the way to or at a show.they are always fun!
Anyways...tell me what you think of the list...i am actually looking forward to the cat stevens record.I have never heard it...i know he is kind of a folksy singer/songwriter type.Which is a style or genre that i do not know alot about...so i am excited!
Have a great week!

The Brecker Brothers album Heavy Metal Be-Bop tends to be the fan favorite, but the self-titled album you have there is the far superior recording. Their early recordings sometimes highlighted their technical virtuosity at the expense of making good music, but they're still a damn fine listen.
Is the Santana album Abraxas by chance? If so, you're in for an enourmous treat. It is spectacluar.
Art Tatum's Piano Starts Here. Oh, mercy. The only way to make a short list of jazz piano greats that doesn't include Tatum is to not make a list at all. A truly essential album, from a truly essential artist.
In fact, I'm going to go listen to it right now!
Now Playing: "Tea For Two" Art Tatum Piano Starts Here (Columbia)
