Is it Sonny 'Rawlins' or Sonny 'Roll ins'

and

See sil Taylor or Sessil Taylor?

I say its Rawlins and Sessil, the girlfriend says See sil and Roll.

I've always pronounced Rollins with a soft O (I loved his score for the 1966 Alfie), but I don't know about Taylor. Maybe LT can help out.

SEE-suhl Taylor, or at least I've heard him answer to that, so if he prefers SEH-sihl, he's not picky. Sort of like Paul Motian, who most people (myself included) have pronounced MOH-shun, but it is apparently MOH-tee-un. The former's just used so often, he's apparently resigned himself it.

Thank you very much, i was right with rollins and her with taylor.

i always read it as MOH-tee-un, but now i like MOH-shun more.
