Hey, a mod should go back into the first post and make a database / link directory of all of the publications' lists as a good central reference so that when all of them are posted up and the official metacritic lists aren't up yet we can browse and discuss.

I don't normally say too much about the music/albums I don't care for; that changes way too much over time and I might end up eating my words some day. But seriously, the Good, the Bad & the Queen??? Over some of the other albums on that list?

it really is a great album though. i personally prefer a couple others over it, but a very british publication picking the most british album of the year, one that is quite good at that, isn't a travesty.

britney spears as number 10 for the London Times, however, is. RADIOHEAD, for chrissakes!

Wow

Hissing Fauna continues to display zero traction in the majority of year end polls...not just missing top 10-15, but failing to make top 50-100 lists altogether...I've backed albums before that have faired poorly in year end polls...Lanegan's Bubblegum, Gelb's 'Sno Angel...but I always kinda got why they weren't getting mainstream traction...the way Hissing Fauna is getting blanked seems almost inexplicable...are we posters on metacritic simply denizens of an alternate universe?

I really like that one, I came on to it pretty late—way after 2006 ended—but I love the soulful chorus and Gelb’s lively and fresh sounding musicianship. It’s one of those albums that sounds really great no matter when you play it. It truly was overlooked last year.

It was certainly overlooked by me... it was supposed to be in my final top 20, then I forgot. I was confused as to why I only had 19, and promoted number 21.

I've actually not listened to it since. Think I will right now. I certainly have the time, seeing how I just turned up for work, they forgot they had booked me, and had got someone else in instead. I wouldn't mind if it wasn't for the fact that in my current insomniac state, I went to bed at 9 last night, stared at the ceiling until 3.30, then got up with my alarm at 6.30am. Not happy.

So anyways, Sno Angel is a great album...

I missed this first time I glanced at the list. Probably because I didn't expect it to be there. Wow, great choice. Really great album this. I only just picked it up last week, so it likely won't make my top 20, but it might have.

That makes up for them listing Britney Spears at number 10... almost.

I agree, AV Club's top 25 list is a crock of shit.

What The fuck is Fall Out Boy doing there!?

AND WHAT THE FUCK IS THE ARCTIC MONKEYS NOT DOING ON THERE!?

I am totally outraged at The AV CLub this year. I'm glad I don't frequent them much or else I ould have lost faith in them...
