So are the engineering and marketing departments where I work, but that doesn't mean I never talk to marketing, right? I'm not saying that the number of news blurbs on Animal Collective means that they're going to get a 10.0 or anything, but it has been a decent forcast of a good score in the past.

It almost seems like they got paid to review it, even if they gave it a 0. I can't think of any better reason to waste the featured review spot on drivel like that...especially with so much other stuff waiting to get covered. Unless they're stalling because of controversy over somebody giving something a 10...

Source Tags & Codes is still a great album though. You can't knock that one just because Worlds Apart sucked so much (well most of it, anyway), and ...ah did they have another one? I stopped paying attention. I'm actually happy that they did give it a 10.0. It shows that there are times when they throw caution to the winds and really give a shit about some music.
In a funny way, this whole 10.0 business reminds me of sex. Like Pitchfork went "all the way" with just a couple records, but now they're too emotionally scarred to give it away to anyone else.
Finding the review on any given album is particuarly cumbersome on pitchforkmedia, is there any where I can view all the scores given this year on one page - like metacritc does. Thanks

I don't remember the address for it though. It's a website that basically keeps track of that kind of thing, and let's you search through reviews by different criteria.

Personally I'm interested in seeing how highly they rank the new Beirut record. I thought Gulag Orkestar was robbed with only a 7.7. The new one, The Flying Cup Club is pretty damn great.
