Spot on! That's what I was getting at. It drives me crazy. And that started happening, if I recall correctly, around 1995. Pretty much right after grunge had ended unceremoniously with Cobain's death. All of a sudden, everything was "Alternative", and even back then we were all like "alternative to what?". They don't play anything else. And it's been that way for the last 10 years or so. "Indie" has nothing to worry about as long as "Alternative" is still around.
