Yeah. It's a decent list. Kindof looks like a Pitchfork Media end of the year final exam cheat sheet. And I'm afraid when it's all said and done, our board list will probaly look surprisingly similar. Of course the format that Pitchfork chose to use (predetermining the albums you could vote for) likely played a role in this. I couldn't vote for my real top three albums. I just chose my three favorites from the list they gave me.

I'm also a bit sad that Department of Eagles are not on this list. I don't know why people are snarfing up the Fleet Foxes and not really acting interested in the Eagles. In Ear Park is a seriously great album.

The only real surprise is the WHY? album. Didn't realize it was that popular.

Only 9/25 for me. The rest of the albums in my top 20 are known (mostly) but usually overlooked or underrated.

8 of the top 10 and 12/25 overall. Seems like a list of consensus. Don't think Wolf Parade should be in there tho.

And Shad, I still haven't figured out what's so good about Department of Eagles. Maybe my ears are busted.

I was very disappointed with the format they used. (In particular, for the songs list.)

the 5 i voted for are in the top 11. I feel a bit ill, ill with hipster germs.

Definitely agree with the format being a bit bad. Though didn't they have an 'Other' section you could use, or was that something else I'm thinking of.

As for the P4Ks worst album covers, I 100% disagree with Microcastle. Everything else is just "meh". But there are a few "OMG that is so awful".

I don't even know what is the real Microcastle cover. There's that the brownish picture of apartments or something and says "Microcastle" across the front in big white letters. Then there's this new peach colored face with the skull in the eyeball that Pitchfork is making fun of. For my iTunes, I've been using the latter one as the cover for Weired Era Cont. but I'm confused because AMG and Pitchfork are referring to it as the cover for Microcastle. Somebody out there who bought the actual cd can maybe straighten me out.

I thought the pink face was the Microcastle CD cover and the brown building thing was the vinyl (which comes with Weird Era Cont on CD with the pink face as the album cover). At least thats how mine worked.

The pink face skull eye is the CD cover. The brown buildings with "MICROCASTLE" in white is the vinyl cover. Ignore everything else.

What strikes me about this list is how similar it is to our list. I don't think that makes us P4k zombies. It just means that there is some consensus in the indie world.

That link is dead. but when you buy the actual copy of "Microcastle", the front has the pink skull eye cover, and the back has the green cover, which is the cover of "Weird Era". That's why I think it's bullshit to call it a "bonus album". This is very clearly a double album.

I think it's a perfectly fine album cover. Why would they knock it when there were other worse ones? Just to show that they don't take themselves so seriously to never make fun of their idols? Pretty dumb, if you ask me.

Is this actually just a list of pitchfork's highest scoring albums, it would be pretty funny if it was almost identical.

Found the Weird Era Wikipedia page here. Now I'm even more confused, I hadn't seen the green album cover yet.
