Bran Van 3000 ranks 59 as a band, and Underworld doesn't make the list. Weak.

It's best rock list, so...

Just skimming over the list, it includes The Orb, Orbital, and Autechre, and there are a number of other electronic albums on the albums list, so I think Scaruffi takes a wide interpretation of what rock is - basically, everything that's not jazz or classical.

I'm not saying Radiohead or Nirvana should be number one on his list, but he has them as the 29th and 69th best band of the 90's, respectively.

I'm looking for Russian Militant Black Metal. Semi-good production is a plus, as are clean vocals (if kept to a minimum). Also looking for vocals in Russian. Basically like a Russian version of Absurd...

I don't know if anyone noticed this or not, but the Beatles didn't make his top 29 list of the greatest bands of the 1960's. And Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road were the only ones to make the list. And they both scored 7/10.

Scaruffi hates the Beatles, to the point where I'm tempted to think that it's some sort of postmodernist joke. His reviews of the early Beatles albums especially are hysterical, both in the funny sense and the hysteria sense.

He thinks Radiohead are knockoffs of the Smiths, for what that's worth. I don't think Scaruffi's worth much as the end all of rock crit by any means, but the albums he does think are good are usually worth checking out. So I wouldn't get all hussy about what he excludes, but his lists are still worth reading.
