It's indeed very probable that Veckatimest turns into p4k's second +9.0 album of the year.
I got suspicious of my 7.8 hallucination when they gave "While You Wait For the Others" a 10/10. I think it's the first track they give a perfect score in this new scale.

9.0 and it reads like a 8.0. I hate when they do that. They give it one of the highest scores of the year and then spend most of the review talking about what's wrong with it. Its almost like the guy writing the review wanted to put a 7.0 on it but the higher powers told him 9.0! So the author has to defend his postition to all of his friends he's told the album was boring to.

Yeah after I read it I thought "what a strange review". It reminded me of the review for 'Amnesiac' which also got a 9.0. After reading that review I always had an 8.5 or lower in my head and I was surprised every time I went back and it was actually a 9.0.
I have 'Yellow House' but I never listened to it so I will see how this one goes, sounds like fleet foxes mixed with the national.
The head of state has called for me, but I don't have time for him

I rarely read the entirety of any Pitchfork review, because I usually find they just go on and on and I don't really get what they're saying. Often, I just look at the numerical rating so i get a sense of whether they liked the album. But I read the whole review of Veckamitest and, predictably, found it completely incomprehensible. I was like, WTF????? Do they have any editors on staff???
It reminded me of some reviews by Robert Christgau, where you honestly do not know at the end of the review whether he liked the album or not.
