the xbox 360 is probably the best, but i would also like to have a ps3 to go with it, especially if your thinking of getting blueray and/or have high def. they both have great excusives. xbox has halo and gears of war and left for dead. Halo is love or hate, but gears and l4d are extremely fun. and you can't go wrong with xbox's online play, but just so you know, you should see how close you are to a router, because i had to buy a new longer cable to be able to connect, but it was only $20 more and it is superior to ps3 online play. Ths ps3 had free wifi play, but i hear its not as good as xbox. though there are more games that allow 60 player battles, and now over 200, it sounds like there will be connection problems with crowds that large, and even playing with that many people can get frustration because you're constantly getting killed as you spawn because people are spawning everywhere.but the exclusives are cool, like Metal gear solid 4, and resistance and inFamous. the really bad thing about the ps3 is you have to wait for games to install(like on a computer) onto your ps3 which can take a while. but both are great. if you have many friends with an xbox get an xbox because than you can talk to them with a reliable mic on xbox live and play with them too which is lots of fun. both consoles overprice though. $60 for a game!? and Sony's always been expensive, and Microsoft is ripping people off. controllers cost almost as much as a game! its up to you to decide, but i would go xbox. don't get a wii!!! when they first came out and even when you first play them they're really cool, but that goes away really fast. there is a lot of horrible 3rd party developers putting crap onto the console, and that leaves minimal good games that are worth playing. besides, you'll be the laughing stock of hardcore gamer world.
If you're a casual gamer, go Wii. Nothing too hard, though Legend of Zelda is one of the greatest franchises, ever. Plus it's a great party console. Controllers are always easy to learn, and the games are fun, but not too deep.
PS3, while I have one, I don't use that much for gaming. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, however, is one of the best games I've ever played. Graphics, control, story, it's got it all. I use my PS3 mostly for Blu-Rays.
Xbox 360 - I play the most on, mostly online with friends. IMHO, Xbox has the best online service. Halo's solid, as are the Call of Duties and Orange Box, but those last two are on PS3, too.
Has the XBox Natal already come out in the U.S.? Has anyone tried it first hand like in testing and is it worth holding out for you think? We tend to get things late here and was wondering if I get a new console or just wait a bit more.

What are you guys smoking anyway?! The Wii is the BEST console ever! I mean, see the sales right now. The Wii is selling like crazy but then you said it's terrible.
How many people who are "Nintendo-haters" in Metacritic says "DON'T BUY THE WII! IT SUCKS!!!"? For god sakes everyone, these guys are too lazy. I mean, "moving around is too much work"?!?! There are also other Wii games that don't need a lot of work.
How many Wii games do you have anyway?! I'm very sure it's only 1-5 only. That's NOT EVEN ENOUGH for God's sake.
The Nintendo Wii DOES NOT causes anyone to become a laughing stock of the hardcore gaming world. Call me that if you like, but do you honestly think people who played the Wii (around 3,000,000 people in the world) are a laughing stock? Do you both even read what are you posting?!
I only have a Wii and I'm very satisfied. I already have over 30+ games. Yes, some games are a bit of crap.... but that still doesn't make me boring or tired... or whatever those "Nintendo-haters" call it.
Do you have ANY websites or links that prove that the Nintendo Wii makes any person be a laughing stock of the gaming world? I guess there's a few, but these people who done these are Nintendo haters FOR SURE.
Sorry for people who read this....

I honestly think the 360. It glitches sometimes but its mainly because the game disc is either scratched or dirty or the console has been on too long. It is also cheaper to buy than the PS3. But you would need a hard drive which cost about $100 to play regular Xbox games on the 360. ___________________ Play Free Games | Free Online Strategy Games

IIRC the Honda Accord was one of the most stolen cars out there. This is not because it was the best car by any means. It was merely because it was so ubiquitous as to be the easiest car to sell chop shop parts for. Most people who know anything would agree that Windows is not the best operating system out there for any given task except gaming. However, people use it because it is easier to do so rather than deal with the alternatives.
As for the OP, it depends entirely on your TV and whether you really want games like LBP, Resistance1/2, and Drake's fortune. If you think a blu-ray player is a good investment and also want a gaming console, than the PS3 is by far the best. If you want 'good' multiplayer, good being defined as subpar compared to the PC, then go with the 360 which is at least a bit superior to the PS3, and much much much better than the Wii. If you want a console you can dick around with and run SNES, N64, and NES emulators on, get the Wii. Also, if you constantly have people coming over, get the Wii.
Mass Effect 2 or Uncharted 2? Condemned: Criminal Origins or Resistance? Shadow Complex or Little Big Planet? Splinter Cell Conviction or MGS4? Forza 3 or GT5? Alan Wake or Killzone 2? Fable 2 or Demon's Souls? GTA IV: TBOGT or Resistance 2? Left 4 Dead 2 or Haze?
Make the call on the basis of the games, I'd say.
Wii is good for parties and playing with your family.
