Different from your all-time favourite game in that this topic refers to the game that is sucking most of your time away at the moment.
Anyway, my current favourite game goes to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I got it a while ago and played through it but wasnt too impressed. Anyway, with my computer being delayed for ANOTHER week (thanks to a stuff up at Dell for which they are giving me Photoshop and a second 250Gb HD) I picked it up again. This time I delved a bit deeper into the game. I made an effort to complete subquests and delve deeply into the other characters backgrounds and into the fighting system and was blown away by the depth of the game.
The emotional attachment I developed with the characters was like those you develop with the characters of a really good movie. The game never misses a beat. It manages to be perfectly paced and always at the perfect difficulty. You can play it through without bothering with anything else (like I did the first time) or you can delve deeper and deeper into the game. Either way, its a blast that sucks your time away. I think the game is going to be directly responsible for me failing my final University exams, but oh well.

I've found myself playing older games recently. I just finished Earthbound, a truely great SNES RPG. Before that I was playing Star Ocean 2, which is also pretty good.
I reserve the right to be entirely wrong.

MVP Baseball is my game of choice right now. I've gone through 5 years already and just started over with a fantasy draft and all that. Best baseball game in a while, although I wish EA would bring back the homerun derbys that had you swinging for targets, that was probably the most fun when up against another player.

I'm still playing & enjoying "Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2" on my PS2. I was always a big Wip3Out fan, so any kind of car racing or hovercraft-trench racing works for me.

Normally this is really not my kinda game genre at all. Nevertheless, I've been playing Time Crisis III for the PS2 like crazy the last couple of days....And I don't even own a lightgun!

Recently I spent most of my free time playing Silent Hill 2, I bought it from EB. The game is deep and thrilling. It is definitely one of my favourite games.
I also played SSX3 for a couple of times. It is a lot of fun.
After all the rave reviews of SSX3, I picked it up and was pretty disappointed. It was on OK game and all, but it would probably only register a 7 or so on my meter.
Anyway, my favourite game at the moment is Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (though I dont have XBL ) with Timesplitters 2 as a close second. Picked up both as well as Max Payne really cheap this week at an EB sale.

I restarted on Sega GT 2002, I'm going to collect all the cars and fully tune them all. I'm not doing well right now b/c I just picked up Morrowind as something to hold me over until Fable and I've already put in maybe fifteen hours in two days.

did you like Tony Hawk 2? Because SSX 3 is better in almost every way. it's one of the most fun games I've ever played.
