I need some help, my best friend's BD is coming in 3 weeks and Iam planning to by him new console but cant really decide which one..Wii, PS3 or Xbox?

He has PS2 and dont know hilself which one he would like..

So what you recommend?

The Wii will Kill any opposition. Don't Defy the immense power of NINTENDO. Wii will kick all opponents butts.

If he already has a PS2, and he doesn't own any previous Nintendo, or X'Box consoles; odds are, he would want a PS3.

All three consoles are pretty damn good; it really depends of what games he likes to play. The X-Box 360 and the PS3 offer a very similar range of games, but the PS3 has the smallest range of great games available at this stage, because it's still early days, however, some would agree that it has the most promise out of the three consoles.

The Nintendo Wii is a great and innovative console, and it was my first choice, but it’s not as popular with younger generation gamers, in fact, many younger gamers tend to shun it, and at the end of the day, the last thing you want to do is spend hundreds of dollars on something that he will think is lame, and never want to play, regardless of how good it really is.

My advise would be, if you want to get a better gauge of what he’d be after, maybe check out what games he currently owns for the PS2, make a list, and go to your local games store and ask them which console would offer a similar range of games, or if there is a particular console that offers all the newer releases of those games.

Play it safe - go with the PS3. That way he can still play his old games on it, and even if you don't find many cool new games that he'd like, it can still be used as a Blu-ray player.

Or just get him the cheapest console on your poket which is the wii

IMO Xbox 360 has more available for my taste. The online play is what attracted me to the console and XBLA.

I have a PS3, and the game selection is just decent, i'm pretty sure there are better games for the 360. But in terms of a home media component, the PS3 cannot be beaten. Especially the 80 Gig with BLU RAY.

I would say the best console is the one that fits the user best. PS3 is mighty nice with all the integration, 360 seems to have less red ring of death, Wii seems to be still doing well.

Well RIGHT NOW the 360 is the best console, but in a year or so the ps3 will start kicking its ass. As far as the wii goes i think it's a total waste of money.
