I NEVER put much faith into the user reviews. Not because I don't think that some of them can make good points. Generally, you get fanboys calling one of the opponent games terrible and little kids just randomly deciding that "GTA: SA" :"...is a great game for children over the age of 18 it should not be given to children under age. this game is also a discrimantion of black people and the thats the reason for my low rating."

I would much rather have intelligent responses by critics, than stupid responses by gamers.

It doesn't really matter to me, but this is the reason why I don't read the user comments.

in the "terrible because of wasted potential" category is GTA San Andreas PC... I'm addicted to it but come on, its still basically GTA III, the writing is awful and the AI is worse (try to get gang members anywhere). They built the world and forgot to make it that interesting - few collectibles and pretty uninspired missions, less interesting or non-linear than the original. they could have done some awesome shit with what was there too, instead of a point A to point B race kill the guy on the motorcycle etc.
anything resembling a good plot ends up being retarded. too many dick jokes... I even like dick jokes but seriously those guys need girlfriends so they stop jerking off.

Battlefield 2 disappoints me at the current moment. I find there to be too many classes and weapons and the battles are just so jumbled, and it isn't helped by the terrible AI. The AI cannot even do basi things like drive humvees into the battle without trouble. Most fo the time I end up having to drive and shoot for myself. They are even worse when manning the guns, they refuse to fire on enemy soldiers for no reason. They are quite easy to kill also, even on higher difficutly levels, although it does get a bit harder, not much. They are overall incompetant and I detest playing with them. At one point, me and two of my comrades were attacked by three enemies. All of the enemies were using knives. They weren't even shooting! I was the only one to come out alive.

If anything, Final Fantasy 7 is underrated.

As far as overrated goes, I think Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is overrated. Although, the other ones weren't. I also think Halo is overrated, as well as Counter-Strike.

Tekken Series-great and all but i get bored quickly

Lego Star Wars-gets repetitive and once you beat everything you're bored

I agree. I had the old school Tony Hawk's 1 and that was a decent game. How many did they end up making? 4 or 5?

Tekken is great as an arcade game, but sucks as a console game.

I used to have a really mediocre Lego racing game. I played it maybe once or twice before it got old. There's a lot of potential for Lego games, such as Lego Island for PC, but they shouldn't try to do stuff like racing or Star Wars.

What about that Donkey Kong 64 game that came out a while back? I remember being excited when I first started playing, then gradually realizing that it wasn't so great.

I'll go with FFVII and FFX.

There are plenty more overrated games, but those are the ones I have to hear talked about the most.
