Tales of Symphonia Xenogears Xenosaga II FF4 - Hard Type
Growlanser II and III are great. But I got to the end of Growlanser II and got to a battle that was literally impossible because I didn't have the equiptment I needed to survive, and never got around to buying the anti-status effect equiptment I needed. Then I went to start a game of Growlanser III, and guess what. *The disc was scratched*.
So I never got to play Growlanser III....

There are a couple really hard battles in G2, but a bit of perserverance and strategy change got me past all of them. Sucks about the scratched disk, though.
I reserve the right to be entirely wrong.

I agree, in most cases. I got through most of the hard battles with perserverence.
But in this one, your entire party gets poisoned every five seconds, and you're on a time limit. Not the 5 HP/turn poison...the 25 HP/turn poison. (And the occasional paralysis). So I figure I need the gem that prevents poison.

I can't imagine which level you're on, unless it's the one against Wolfgang, in which case you should get your people into the rooms on the side ASAP, because the statuses don't hit there. Use the spell refine to get rid of the statuses, and pound away at him with spells, because if you were trying to get your attackers in close, he would have killed them in one or two hits anyway.
I left my attackers in the doorways to deal with the maurauders, and once I had all of them taken care of, I used attack up and cycle up on Charlone and Hans and let them attack as well with their long distance.
I'll give you that it's hard, though. I probably tried over 10 times before I got it.

I tried to just hide in the rooms and pound away with spells. I ran out of MP before he was dead, even though I had all my spellcasters (I don't know which route you went, but mine were Charlone, Rivera, and the dog) doing nothing but casting attack spells the whole time, and he didn't run out of HP.
That's why I wanted to go buy better accessories to deal with it.

This game is actually one hell of a lot of fun, although it's nothing like other Mortal Kombat games. It's a Devil May Cry-esque action-adventure game, rather than a fighter. I'd say it's probably on par with God of War, despite its relative lack of critical accolades.
At the very least, it's a great rental.

I'm playing Tales of Symphonia. Because I was pissed when it was for Gamecube instead of PS2, and I finally managed to borrow a Gamecube to play it.
I'm starting to feel the Tales series is the most underrated series in all of RPGs. All four installments I've played have been really good. I can hardly pull myself away from this one, and I'm getting the urge to replay all the other three.
And I recently went to a Tales forum and found out there are two Tales games in Japan that might not even come to the US. Which makes me even more pissed off that Tales is underrated. If it got the fandom it deserved, those games would be translated for sure.
We get every crappy turn based Final Fantasy clone that comes out, and miss half the Tales games..

i don't think i'll be able to afford any new games until christmas -- so i've been looking for any type of game i can find online. in honor of halloween i've been playing this: www.creepycrossword.com. not exactly a video game, but it's fulfilled my monster fix today.
GTA 3:LIBERTY CITY STORIES,is an expensive game, but since my very evil worldofWarcraft account expired, I have nothing left to play. It is fun, though, I do miss the ability to leap over and grab onto walls, but I'm so glad that they added the manual aim (even though its kinda loose), the motorcycles, the costume changes, and the ability to jump out of moving vehicles. I barely started so I gotta get playing again.
the last 3 games ive played that had any length at all were rpgs.so i dont feel like playing anouther one anytime soon right now im playing devil may cry 3 and shadow of the collossus

Tales of Legendia is coming out in the US, and the PSP one is a rerelease of Tales of Eternia.
The ones not released in the US are Tales of Destiny II (ToD2 in America was really Tales of Eternia), Tales of Rebirth, and...possibly Tales of the Abyss.
I've been playing tons of RPGs lately. Once I get God of War I may go into an action/adventure phase.
