I'm indifferent too, and in games where you actually have the option of making characters of either gender I've made both.

Haha, I dunno if it has anything to do with that. That's like saying guys should technically be more into chick flicks because there's more tits on it than action films (okay, sometimes there are more tits on action films, but they are represented as the objects of desire, as opposed to being the subject of the movie, who is often male). You can probably relate to the game more easily if the protagonist is the same gender as you are, because you are taking your own persona
into the game. But like I said personally, I'm completely indifferent and I've made characters in either gender if given the option.
The new game Heavenly Sword on PlayStation 3 features a female lead. I played the demos and with all the weapon and martial arts animation I'd tag it as the female version of God of War.
