This Christmas, we have a lot to choose from for entertainment and presents. We have 2 new systems (The Wii and Playstation 3). We also have the Xbox 360, which has a huge game coming out November 7th (Gears of War). Don't forget about our handhelds as well(PSP and Nintendo DS). All systems have amazing games that are coming out that you can point out yourself in the question below...
My question to you, is what is your must have game or system or whatever for this upcoming Christmas and why?

The Dell XPS. A computer made for the sole purpose of playing games! I know it's been out for a while but no one's going to get me a computer that costs more than a £1000.

Yeah, the Wii is gonna be the hottest item of Christmas for sure, hell the hottest of all YEAR. It's gonna be huge I can just tell. I don't think I'm gonna get one till the bigger games come out though.
BTW, my #1 game I'm absolutely Zelda TP.. GC version. It's gonna get at least 98 on this site IMO.

Due to its really low retail price compared to its other next-gen competitors, Wii is a real temptation, considering a lot of the major titles are going to be available on all three platforms anyway.
But you know what, maybe there's a reason why PlayStation 3 is so expensive, you know. I mean, I'm talking about its Blu-ray technology and overall value. Blu-ray to DVD is like HD to Standard TV. Blu-ray could be the future and the PlayStation 3 is giving us that headstart!
Either way... like you, Cyrone, I'm not really buying the console on release date...more likely next year summertime. I'm waiting for all the good titles to come out first before I get one. I already know what PlayStation 3's launch titles are, and I don't think I'll get it just yet.
As far as Christmas must-haves, hopefully I'll get all of my videogame gear I've been craving before then.
Wii is highly anticipated, partly because of the low cost but mostly because of the innovative game play. Everyone wants to know if it'll live up to the hype.
I want to get the Wii so I can start playing Zelda: Twilight Princess. I know it's also coming to Gamecube but (1) that's like a month later, (2) I'd rather swing the Wii controller like a sword instead of pushing a button and moving the D-pad, (3) my brother hijacked my Gamecube and won't return it.
1) Xbox 360- Already has a great base of amazing titles, and it is $200 less than the PS3. You can't go wrong with great technology, which Microsoft has provided us with. And with Xbox Live growing each day, endless entertainment awaits with this must have!
2) The Wii- With a truly innovative game play, and an attractive low price to a next-gen system, this really feels like a must have!
3) Gears of War- A highly anticipated game for the Xbox 360, which looks absolutely amazing so far!

A Wii and Twilight Princess - if anyone needs a reason why....well...you should go promptly to the nearest wall and hit your head against it until there is no more pain.
Yes, Zelda for the Wii should be great. Also I am very dissapointed in the launch games for the PS3! Not one game has caught my attention as a must have besides maybe Resistance. That's just my opinion though. And also get Mission Impossible III on dvd, that movie was sick!

Well I was at the mall last Friday and I got to try out the new Nintendo Wii. I played the game Excite Truck, and it was wierd because I picked up the controller and the manager came running over to me yelling "I need your license"! Obviously because the controlers are wireless and I could walk out with them, but w/e. Anywase first off, the handling with the controler felt incredibly realistic, but that doesn't mean it didn't take some getting used to. It was amazing how different it is playing with the motion sensing controler. If I tilted my controller to the left it would turn left, you get the picture. I though was not impressed with the visuals, which looked like a bad Xbox game, but the gameplay made up for it. Overall it was what I expected, with truly revolutionary gameplay, and below par graphics.
Also I got a chance to play Gears of War, the new Xbox 360 shooter, and it is simply amazing! The atmosphere that the game puts you in is incredible, story is decent, but the gameplay is very intense, and the graphics are some of the best I have ever seen. Just go and get it, it's that good!

I've been thinking about this for awhile now, and I still can't figure it out. This black friday I picked up a 360 at Circuit City ofr $340. I also got Gears of War which was $60 (technically GOW was suppose to be free, but Circuit City took money off of the 360instead).
I also want an HDTV. Probably a widescreen 33-36',but the guys run about $600-1,000. I don't know what to do, I can't ask for an HDTV AND a 360, thats just godly amount of money. So I thought of returning the 360 (haven't decided about the game yet) and using that money to go to the TV. If I get the HDTV, I won't have a 360; but I do have an Xbox which works on HDTV's. But if I stick with the 360, I won't have the TV, and whats the point of playing GOW and Geometry Wars when you aren't utilizing the visuals to its max.
Honestly...personaly I would take the Xbox 360 over an HD-TV just the fact that the HD-TV's price is going down at a steady rate. My parents and I bought a 30" Samsung HDTV for a little over $700 and it's great, but of course I'm having more fun with my 360. So the choice is up to you...

To be honest, I don't really game in the same fashion that I once did. Nowadays, I purchase 3-5 PS2/XBOX games a month (Older games from a used store so I only spend 20-40). I, generally, only choose games that have a great replay value and play them casually (3-5) hours a week. I don't know what has changed, possibly it is that I have gotten tired of the need for a new console every couple of years.
Suffice it to say that I would LOVE to have an HDTV and an XBOX 360, I don't believe I am willing to get one while it is popular (read expensive).
