Sorry MJK, but it had to be done.

So let's hear it: who wants to continue to play games???

I do!

In fact, I think I'm gonna spend all day just playing video games and eating Cheetos.

I still want to continue anyway...... I done it for around TEN years. However, I noticed the discussions gone a bit too far......

First, Maynard James Keenan, or Jimmy, or whatever, yes, it's true that videogaming is a bad hobby, but you gone a bit too far. Videogaming is actually entertainment stuff, like your type which is books, or some sort, it's no difference actually.

Next, Proffesor, you may be most likely getting angry about that MJK discussion, but however you know that sometimes people have their own different opinions too........

I hope that these two discussions will stop right now so that it will not have any arguments.

It's hard to respond to truth.

It's much easier to respond to opinions that are not validated by anything, or to an egotist who thinks he's better than everyone around him. The combination of the two can result in five page threads full of one-sided arguments.

Just sayin's all... Big Grin

Its hard to respond to truth? Was that a joke? What in your thread title or original post was "truth"? Asking "who wants to keep playing videogames?" has nothing to do with truth. Its a question that elicits no cognitive thought.

I didnt want to post in here because I'm like the Brad Pitt of the message board. Anywhere I go droves will follow, but that statement was just to rediculous to pass up.

The point is, people that post on this board want to keep playing games. They know this. I know this. I wasn't expecting five-page discussion. I was expecting simple affirmation from a few people, and I got it.

I'm not exactly sure what you were expecting when you made your thread. People to agree with you? A debate? A fight?

My guess: you think this is all a big joke. Which it kind of is. It's the Internet. Who care what some guy who likes Tool, and can type moderately well thinks? Or what the former Monkey Boy thinks or Super 'Shed or even myself? What do any of our opinions matter, in the long run?

Nothing, except we enjoy one another's company, and we all respect the other's opinions. You, however, do not respect any opinion other than ones that match your own, no? You might say you don't respect our opinions because they're wrong. But how are your opinions any more right than ours? Because you're well-read? Because you play football? What else do you do on your off-time that might justify using such a one-sided approach in dealing with others?

You've tossed off a study or two our way that suggests video games are "bad," despite EricG75 tossing seven studies at you that suggest otherwise. You don't respond to this information because...?

A few questions, I know, but I'm hoping you'll make it worth my while. Take your time.

As a quirky old professor once said: Good news everyone!

One of my mates lent me his PS3! Big Grin And better yet, he's got like 10 freaking games, the bastard.

I've played a few games but the one that's sucked me in the most is LittleBigPlanet.

Anyway, off I go to waste my life Wink

I agree with that one! Of course, MJK always know how to argue, so he's in the wrong anyway. Wink

Of course, Proffesor, I think I should conclude like this:

" We want people to be more like videogamers and LESS LIKE MAYNARD JAMES!!!"

Perhaps you should read it in context. Scroll up and you shall find the "sense" you seek.

Hahahaha. I thought it made sense, even out of context. I'm wondering what confused him...

On a less ass note, I thought I’d pop yall up on some of my recent gaming endeavours!

I've been playing the hell out of Lost Odyssey on the 360. Awesome game! Easily the best JRPG I've played in ages, HOWEVER! (it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t have something bad to say about it Wink).

There are 2 characters whose ultimate weapons you have to choose between, making it impossible for the player to get both characters ultimate weapons, which was a bit disappointing when I first found out, but I let it go.

I later discovered that when you finish the game, you receive the option to start a New Game+ and thought "sweet! Now I can finally get that other characters ultimate weapon!" BUT NO! The game designers (Mistwalker) have made it so that all you take with you into the New Game+ is nothing other than your main character starting at level 50. Eeker You’ve got to be kidding me. What a freaking jib!

I was actually less peeved about not being able to get both weapons when I thought there was never any hope! But when this so called “New Game +” had to pop in and toy with my emotions, I was furious. I mean, how the hell is it a new game “+” if you can’t acquire anything new? Confused It’s NOT! That’s how! Mad Starting the game at level 50 is certainly now big reward; usually when you get a New Game + you get to keep all of your weapons, items and accessories, that’s what makes it “+” (I suddenly remembered a Zapp Brannigan quote for a moment there... “that’s what makes it a scotch on the rocks!”).

So of course I’m outraged by this idiotic manoeuvre from Mistwalker, especially since you have to choose between 2 of the main characters ultimate weapons. I would have played the entire game a second time around if only just to get the extra weapon, but not now, Mistwalker, not now...

Fortunately, you can contact Mistwalker regarding any criticisms at their website. OH yeah... Cool I’ll definitely be sending them an angry piece of my mind. Roll Eyes

Thanks for the update, 'Shed. Love the name change, by the way.

Lost Odyssey is on my "to get" list for the 360 (now that I have one... yay?) and so it's good to hear that it's a worthwhile game, despite some annoying factors.

What scares me a little is your post count. Mark of the beast, my friend. Post something else quick!

Sacrifice is going on tonight!

Yeah, you should definately get Lost Odyssey. My complaint above (though slightly annoying) is only really poking fun. The rest of the game is really good.

I wonder though, if Lost Odyssey is Hironobu Sakaguchi's new "Final Fantasy" vessel. Having left Square, and starting Mistwalker, will we see the continuation of his classic JRPG style saga's under the title Lost Odyssey II, III, and so on in that order, with completely different characters in a completely different universe. It works on the same level.
