I'm borrowing this topic from the Music Editor because it's fun... Give us your DESERT ISLAND GAMES. Here's how it works:
* You have quit your job and decided to voyage around the world in a small paddle boat. Not having any boating skills, you immediately wash ashore on the nearest (and yet still incredibly remote) desert island. You know it's a desert island because there's a cactus there. (Sadly, you just missed crashing on the nearby dessert island, which had a sundae bar.)
* On this desert island, conveniently, is a futuristic, universal multi-console / PC rig that plays games made for every console, handheld, and computer ever created, and also features every conroller ever made (incuding that wonderful Intellivsion keypad). You're not sure how it got there (maybe it belongs to the cactus?), and yet there it is, plugged into the island's one and only power outlet.
* Also quite conveniently, the only item from your boat to wash ashore with you is your backpack filled with the 10 GAMES that you absolutely cannot live without (and indicate the system they play on -- feel free to mix and match). And some gum. But we're not concerned about the gum. We are concerned with the CDs: Which 10 discs did you bring? Give us your list!
* Remember, games in a series (Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Legend of Zelda, Madden, Need for Speed etc.) still count as separate game when you are on any desert island. Also, the island's only other inhabitant, a man by the name of Probst, is known to force people who bring more than 10 GAMES to eat insects of increasing grossosity, so you better not exceed that limit.
* You can only select games released by the time you leave for the island (by the time you post your list) So choosing Half-Life 2 or Gran Turismo 4 in May of 2004 is cheating.
Final Fantasy VII (Playstation) WipEout XL (Playstation) NHL '94 (Sega Genesis) Diablo II (PC) Halo (Xbox) Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (PS2) Madden NFL 2004 (PS2) -- assuming 2005 hasn't made it to the island at that point Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) Streets of Rage II (Sega GameGear) Baseball (Intellivision) - for nostalgic reasons...

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) Quest for Glory 2 (PC) Perfect Dark (N64) Banjo Kazooie (N64) Soul Calibur 2 (Xbox) Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (Xbox) Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Megadrive) F-Zero X (N64) {random course generator, hell yeah} Diablo 2 (PC) Curse of Monkey Island (thats MI3 isnt it?) If you can play multiplayer with Probst then chuck Halo in there isntead of Banjo Kazooie.

1. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (XBOX) 2. Splinter Cell (Xbox) 3. NFL 2K5 (Xbox) 4. Zelda: Windwaker (Gamecube) 5. Starcraft (PC) 6. Thief: Deadly Shadows (XBOX) 7. KOTOR (XBOX) 8. KOTOR II (XBOX) ...there's other good games, but the last two disks would be porn...
1. Starcraft. I'm assuming this baby has online play. 2. Skies of Arcadia. Most fun I've ever had playing an RPG. 3. Final Fantasy X. Great cast, fun game. 4. Warcraft III. See Starcraft. Online play can keep my occupied. 5. Red Alert. Of the RTS I have played, this one has my favorite single player missions. I love 'em. 6. Worms 2. Worms killing each other with crazy weapons.. what more can you ask for? Me and Probst would have fights to the death. I would win every time. All would be right with the world. 7. Final Fantasy VII. See FFX. 8. Ocarina of Time. I never beat this game, but I wouldn't mind doing it over and over. Great stuff. 9. Goldeneye. Wouldn't have the same multiplayer greatness, but the single player was great too. 10. Final Fantasy Tactics. I know a man who has put ever 4200 hours into this game. There's a lot to do, tons of custimization. I'm not even done with my first playthrough, but I could play this a lot.
Honorable mention: SSBM would rank high if I were not alone on the island. I also eliminated some RPGs that I actually like better in the interest of the scenario.
I reserve the right to be entirely wrong.

In no particular order (it would be near-impossible to rate one above another):
Final Fantasy Tactics (if I had to pick a number one, this may be it) Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Suikoden II Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Guilty Gear X2 (questionable; depends on whether the cactus can play) Metal Gear Solid 2 (yes, I like it more than the original) Metroid Prime Dark Chronicle Super Mario All-Stars (three games in one ) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

1. GTA San Andreas 2. NBA Live 2005 3. GT4 4. NFS Underground 2 5. Freedom Fighters 6. Playboy the Mansion (really wanna play this one) That's all (i think). the 5th one was hard, but i digress.
Notice that I would choose games for their longevity, for I might be forever on that island. Am I not smart?
Rise of Nations (PC) Rome: total war (PC) Diablo II (PC) GTA Vice city or San Andreas (whichever) (PC) Half-Life 2 (with counterstrike ;l) (PC) Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (PC) World of Warcraft (PC) Grand Turismo 4 (PS2) Final Fantasy Tactics (GBA) Knights of the Old Republic (PC)
I would add Guild wars if we were after April the 28th
Super Mario Brothers (Super NES) Donkey Kong (Super NES) Madden 2005 (Xbox) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2) March Madness 2005(Xbox) Pharoah (PC) Mario 64 (N64) Tiger Woods 2005 (Xbox)
I have a question. Does this island have internet so that I can play multiplayer?
If so: Halo 2 (Xbox) UT 2004 (PC)
If not: Gran Turismo 2 (PS) Burnout 3 (Xbox)
