Unofficial word has come down that two excellent gaming magazines, GMR (a joint venture between EB Games and Ziff-Davis) and Xbox Nation (XBN) are folding up their tents this month, and the February issues for each, which will be sent to subscribers only, will be their last. Nice timing, Ziff-Davis!! Great time of year to put people out of work. Apparently, subcriptions of GMR were way down.
From my point of view, a guy who subscribes to EVERY gaming magazine out there, this is a huge loss to the gaming community. XBN was just hitting its stride, having gone from a bi-monthly mag to monthly just in the last year. And GMR, with it's provocative presentation and interesting editorials, is just a only a couple of years old. I hope that the editors can jump on to another publication, and quickly.
I'm bummed.
