Tommorrow is the release of "San Andreas". Of course it'll open like gangbusters...but will "Halo 2" steal it's thunder? Which game will sell more? Or, which will be the better game?
It's obvious that the two will take sales from one another. However, to say that Halo2 is better than GTA: SA is like saying movies are better than couches, it makes no sense. They are two different types of games. I personally am going to get Grand Theft Auto 4, because I can live a little while on the original Halo and not get too bored but GTA Vice city, and three are getting sort of dull.

I really hope Halo 2 doesnt suck!! SA is receiving RAVE reviews. IGN said it was the best game for the PS2 EVER..wow! That's quite the lofty statement. Reading their six page review makes me want to go and buy a PS2 just so I can bask in the San Andreas glory. If Halo 2 is just a smee bit better than Halo 1 it should in theory be better than San Andreas. not that Im wishing for one game to fail and the other to succeed, but Im a fanboy (of Xbox) and I cant help cheer on my system, y'know...
Halo 2 all the way. GTA s are great but personally im a halo goer and ive been looking forward to this game for so long. Although Im not sure which will get more money for the gtas are popular among so many people. we'll just have to wait and see.

Hard to pick a winner. In terms of sheer gameplay both titles should have loads to offer, but in both cases I also fear that you can actually do TOO much witin their respective game universes. Sometimes less is more and I fear all the possibilites (in SA in particular) will have a tendency to make you stray too much away from the overall point of the game, thus making you feel lost at times. It happened for me personally in Vice City...but then again I tend to suck at games other's breeze comfortably through From a more money-making point of view, I really I can't imagine Halo 2 selling more than San Andreas. The fact that more people own a PS2 than a X-Box speaks against it.

GTA will outsell Halo2 for the simple fact that there are more PS2 units out there. But I have played GTA and GTA VC and the verdict was "cool". But when I played Halo at a LAN party with 15 other people I giggled like a little girl. I have never giggled like a little girl before. So it goes without saying that Bungie will be getting my gaming dollar.

I actually disagree with you on this. Even though there are more PS2s out there, EVERYBODY who owns an Xbox will buy Halo 2, and not nearly the same percentage of PS2 owners will pick up GTA: SA. Some people simply don't like the GTA formula any more. So while I think it will be close, I think Halo 2 will outsell GTA: SA -- and I don't have a horse in this race, so don't call me a fanboy.

I dunno which one of you said that you could keep playing the original halo as the gta series is gettin dull well i totally agree with you and i feel many will agree with us halo is and will alwayz be a great game but i dont think they can beat the hype of its predecesor whereas i think gta:sa will. so Gta will win!! and will be a better game!!
After finally getting my hands on a copy of GTA:SA I am going to say that if Halo2 is half as good as Grand Theft Auto then it is going to be better than the first.

Halo 2 is better than GTA: San Andreas I think because you can actually play the game and enjoy it after you beat it in Halo 2, because after you beat GTA, you don't have anything to do.
After playing both for several months, Halo 2 comes out on top. San Andreas allows more freedom for the player, which is a huge plus, but Halo 2 has great multiplayer and better replay value for story mode. In the end, San Andreas loses its steam quickly.
