Question:
I used to think Dreamworks was the superior company. But after they made Spirit, which was unseen by me as well as everyone else if you take a look at its box office record, I think it sorta went into a slump. The Shrek franchise is solid and The Prince of Egypt had a ton of stuff going for it, but, I dont know, Sharktale just looks real weak.

On the other hand, Pixar continues to spit out quality films that are actually better (animation and story-wise) than their predescessors. Though, I like Shrek better than Nemo; I think Pixar is much more solid and consistantly good than Dreamworks.

But thats just me.

Choices:
Dreamworks
Pixar
Neither, they both suck!

My vote goes to Pixar, as Finding Nemo was the best animated movie since Aladdin IMHO.

Pixar is clearly the superior company. I hate the Shrek films and I also didn't like Prince of Egypt. And yes, A Shark's Tale looks absolutely terrible. Pixar on the other hand has Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Monsters Inc, and A Bug's Life. The answer to this question is probably unanimous. Pixar can't miss.

Gotta go with Pixar.

I love Toy Story.

I reserve the right to be entirely wrong.

Pixar is far more superior. They have got the best writing team. They continue to be the most creative in the biz. I think 'Shark Tale' was a bad idea. I know that they might not have intended it, but it looks like they are making 'Recycling Nemo.' Come on! Branch out! Be creative!

I too would definately have to go with pixar. They were the people to originally bring the idea of CG animated movies and they have stuck to it and made all their movies consistantly good. Although i liked the first Shrek, I liked Finding Nemo and Toy Story even more. Shark Tale looks to me that it might possibly be ok, however it definately looks like a ripoff of Finding Nemo. Dreamworks should stick to doing live action movies rather than animation.

Pixar look at the titles: Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Monsters Inc, A Bug's Life, and soon to be The Incredibles. Hands down Pixar.

I was going to let somebody else comment, but since I'm here, I'll say that the Shreks are Dreamworks, not Pixar.

Whoops, wasn't paying attention. Didn't mean to say that, wasn't paying attention. I still say that pixar is better due to the fact that they have a higher amount of good movies as opposed to Dreamworks just having Shrek.

Well, shrek was really good, love it . Is Antz Dreamworks? I can't remember. Anyway, if it is, I loved it too.
Pixar are great too, Finding Nemo and the 2 Toy Stories were brilliant. (I didn't like A Bug's Life though)
I'll say it's a tie....for now!

I'm really looking forward to seeing The Incredibles. And I heard that the next Dreamworks animated film will be called Madagascar and will take place in the jungle I think, it looks quite promising.

I've seen the trailer for the next dreamworks animated film and it looks like The Incredibles have some strong competition!
It's called Madagascar and stars Ben Stiller as a Lion, Chris Rock as a Zebra and David Schwimmer (Ross!) as a neurotic girafe. They all live at the zoo and they are sent to Madagascar where they discover nature and stuff...
It looks really funny and the animation looks perfect (unlike Shark Tale)

What sets Pixar apart from the other animation studios is story and characters that you care about.

Also most Pixar films are fairly low on the pop culture references unlike say Shrek or Shark Tale the humor was more universal.

Pixar tries to revamp its style with every film.

Dreamworks seems to trying too hard to be hip and cool, ok first Shrek was v. funny second not too bad. given the reviews of the 3rd I'll wait till its out for rental on dvd

Ok Cars was not on par with the others but they have a pretty good track records,
