Has anyone seen any of the previews for this movie. It looks great. Its about animals in a zoo who are trying to excape. What do people think its going to be like? My only regret is that I would prefer it to be from pixar, oh well.

I mean, the animation looks excellent, there's Ben Stiller, Chris Rock and David Schwimmer (Ross!), how could it be bad?
How could it be bad you ask? "Shark Tale" looked like good animation, and had Will Smith, Angelina Jolie, Jack Black, Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese and Renee Zellweger, and it sucked.
Dreamworks is going downhill, and they think by just packing their movies full of well known actors, they can cover up the fact that the their movies will never be as good as Pixar's, who are able to make an excellent movie without all the big, well known actors.
I'm not saying the movie will necessarily suck, I'm just saying don't have too high hopes.

Whoever said Dreamworks sucked!?! Well, kraftdeluxe did, but whatever. Personally when you compare the two companies Dreamworks isnt far behind Pixar. Compare it movie by movie.
Antz is probably comparable to A Bug's Life and arguably better. Yes, A Bug's Life is probably the weakest in Pixar's arsenal but it's still great.
Prince of Egypt is one of the best 2D animated films to come out in the last seven years. Compare it to Disney's routine fare like "Home on the Range". No comparison!
Shrek is great and hillarious and no one can argue about it's bankability. It single-handedly mauled anything Disney had ever done with it's quick comedic tone and sarcastic spirit. It's sequel was a little less groundbreaking but a whole lot of fun and it made 400 + million...nuff said.
Sure, Sharktale (unseen by me) may not be the strongest 3D film entry but it looks to be a noble effort and Madagascar seems to be less in the vein of that undersea adventure and more like the kind of wonderful "Ice Age".
But all predictions aside, were just going to have to wait and see...

I did see shark tale, even though it wasnt the best computer animation movie, it still was funny and somewhat good.
Dreamworks has made many good animation movies as Shrek, Shrek 2, Chicken Run, Prince of Egypt, Antz and others.
I do like Pixar more, I never said I didnt, but it doesnt mean that Pixar can make the only good computer generated movies.
I still am looking forward to this movie, even though it isnt neccesarily made by the best CG company.

Yes, I never saw "Shark Tale," but I have heard almost only bad things. Plus it got a metascore of 44. Thats half as much as "The Incredibles," "Toy Story" Toy Story 2" and "Finding Nemo!" HALF!
Nextly, my entusiastic little brother, this argument is about CGI movies. Therefore, that excludes "Chicken Run" (Claymation) and "The Prince of Egypt" (Regular 2D Animation).
And so, I'm not saying that "Madagascar" will be bad, I'm just saying countering Edward Nygma saying "how could it be bad?" Based on the inconsistency of Dreamworks and use of inductive reasoning (I knew Geometry would be useful somewhere), I'm saying there is possibility that it "could" be bad. Or at least worse than if it were placed into the more proficient, skilled hands of Pixar.
EDIT:
Eccentro, you posted your post just before mine. I never said that Dreamworks sucked. Dreamworks as an entire company is certainly better than Pixar. But in the world of just CGI movies, that is all Pixar does and I guess its just easier for them to focus solely on them.
I don't hate Dreamworks, I loved "Shrek" and "Prince of Egypt" as well as many of their live actor movies. ("Gladiator" is the only one that comes to mind right now). I'm just trying to make a point that "Madagascar" just might be bad.

Who said it was only about cgi movies? Why do you decide what the argument is about, I created this topic and started arguing. Are you saying the 2d movies dont reflect the cgi movies and their ability to be good? Its all the same company and its all animation, maybe if you specified the argument only pertaining to computer generated animation movies, the argument could have differed. But that wasnt the argument, I or Eccentro are arguing.

All right! Break it up! Don't make me open a can of whoopass on you guys!!!
That's better. Now, I said that Madagascar would be awesome not only because of the all-star cast but also because of the animation. I haven't seen Shark Tale but I did see many trailers and the animation looked a bit crappy. I saw a trailer of Madagascar and the animation looks superior.
I hope this has clarified my earlier question that seems to have started a Third World War!
I saw the previews for Madagascar on the Shrek 2 DVD. I thought it looked pretty funny. Youve gotta love anything with Ben Stiller, though I think David Schwimmer's voice is a little annoying. When is it supposed to come out? I can't remember any of the details from the preview I saw.
