Yeah, "Aladdin" is on my list, but for my ALL TIME FAVORITE, it would have to go to "The Lion King". This movie is just beautiful. The colors & the sounds, they're just fantastic!

For non-animated (at least partially), I'll take Mary Poppins.
I'm with you on that one. Bedknobs and Broomsticks also holds a special place with me. So does Tron! As far as animated, I'm going with Aladdin, mainly because at the time, I thought it was the coolest looking animated movie I'd seen. Although again like you, mark, I like Alice In Wonderland.

I absulutely adore Finding Nemo, that would be my pick for the best Disney film of all time. If I had to go for something with traditional animation, I would go with Dumbo or Fantasia, although I have a special place in my heart for The Fox and the Hound. But boy, I watch Finding Nemo at least once a week and I never get tired of it, it is such a beautiful piece of film-making. I really wish that it was at least nominated for Best Picture in 2004.

I MUST say I agree with you wholeheartedly! I loved the dragon, the green flames & all! In fact, I really wanna get my hands on the Disney Villains snow globe just for the dragon coming up over it! However, it's hard for me to put that on my list because it's such a girly movie. Although, I was there to grab it when it came to DVD, ready with my exscuse, "It's for my daughter."

I agree, Monkey_Boy. I've been made fun of for liking it so much, but I don't care. The look of it is so unique, not just for Disney films, but animated movies in general.
In addition to the visual style, I love the characters, the music, and the narration. That scene where Maleficent appears in the fireplace and hypnotizes Aurora into wandering up to the tower to prick her finger is probably my favorite scene in ANY animated film.
It seems Sleeping Beauty is so underappreciated these days....... I wish they would re-release it on DVD.

The music for Sleeping Beauty is terrific. Although it is not one of my favorite's, it is easily my girlfriend's favorite one. The use of the original Sleeping Beauty music from P.I. Tchaikovsky's The Sleeping Beauty, suite for orchestra, Op. 66a is wonderful and it works really well.

Do you mean to say that you don't own it on DVD? That really stinks because it will probably be a long time before it is re-released. I remember buying that film the day it came out for my girlfriend.

No, I don't own it......... but I do have it on my computer I also have a very old VHS version of it.
I also just think it gets overlooked when people mention classic disney films (Bambi, Dumbo, Snow White, Pinocchio, Cinderella, etc.).
It was released during the era of those movies (40s-50s, roughly), and I rarely hear it mentioned... It seems a lot of people don't find it to be on the level as those aforementioned movies, but I would definitely rank it among the finest Disney has ever released.

I am inclined to agree with you. I always forget about this one, but when I hear it mentioned, I'm like, "Oh, Yeah! I loved that movie!" It's sad you missed out on the DVD when it came out. Have you tried to find it at places that sell used DVD's? That's where I end up finding movies I can't get anywhere else.

I'm gonna have to say Fantasia. It's actually my favorite film, animated or otherwise. Just the way it runs on pure whimsy without any need for things like dialog or conventional plot. You know, kind of abstract.
Technically I'll still say it's the best. We wouldn't have surround sound today if it weren't for Fantasia circa 1940 (Fantasound!) Longest animated Disney feature, most innovative with it's rich animation and fluid sound (and probably the most controversial too - the Sunflower fiasco?) Yeah, the movie's amazing.
i'm surprised no one has mentioned Tarzan.i think this movie was really good, and it is actually my favorite one of all. the soundtrack is really good too..Phill Collins' song fit this movie very well.so i have to go with Tarzan!

DUUUUDE! I just watched this with the kids last night and I couldn't believe just how beautiful this movie is! The use of 3D animation was excellent! Didja see that water?! Beautiful!
