I’m trying to identify a short anime that I saw a year or two ago. Perhaps someone on these forums can help me out.

It’s a love story between a guy and girl. However, the girl is a mech-pilot fighting in the far reaches of space. The guy is back at home, on Earth. The only dialog is the voice of the two reading their own letters to each other. It takes a long time to transmit the messages back and forth, giving a real sense of how long the war was lasting… and how the chances of her coming back were dwindling. It was a slightly depressing film that was beautifully done. Near the end, I recall the two reading the final letter together.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure this short film was an extra off a DVD of another movie… unfortunately I can’t remember the name of either. Does anyone have any clues as to the name of this film and what DVD it’s on?

I can remember reading the back of an anime DVD that sounded similar to that. Sorry, can't remember the name though

Oh that! I think that's voices of a Distant Star! I am only guessing just recently i saw an adv for it on my fmp and trigun dvd's. It had the boy and girl sending messages and it takes years to get to each other. It seemed really sad of how the guy didn't know whether she could be alive or dead because of the long replies.
