pikmin1 the second had good multiplayer but its randomly generated dungeons and completly unchallenging gameplay ruined it for me but the 1st is a classic
animal crossing is my favorite game of this console generation its innovative relaxing and addictive as hell
metroid prime my second fav just a fuckin masterpeice its actually a tossup between this and animal crossing this has great gameplay and the eerie ambiance and art direction is great its perfect but it took me a while to get immersed in its world
windwaker would be the best zelda game of all time but its too short and to easy thats y ocarana reighns supreme but if u liked that dont let the graphics stop u from playen this gem. it has an infinatly immersive world side quest and great battle system better than ocaranas battle sysstem
mario sunshine platforming at its greatest it takes a while to get into this one but after u do u find urself in platforming nervana in a way only nintendo could deliver its just magical
mario kart double dash u wont stop till u unlock evereything and great multiplayer
super smash brothers melee no description needed evrey one has played it
those r the best but there are other good ones too

Sadly, I only own three games (Sonic Adventure 2, Metroid Prime and Zelda: Wind Waker; it's not an uncommon opinion that the latter two are the only reasons to own a Gamecube).
I'm not going to bother listing good multi-platform games, because it's pointless, so... Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Mario Sunshine, the remade Resident Evil (informally known as REmake), Paper Mario 2 and Viewtiful Joe (hey, it was Gamecube-exclusive for a while). Pretty slim pickings next to the PS2's catalogue.

Biggles, add RE4 (soon to be ps2 but we've had it for months) new legend of zelda, the zelda collector's disc, and the fire emblem and advance wars games coming. but otherwise you're right it's a shame nintendo has such a small library, they could be doing great things with the hardware

For the single player experience, I'll with Resident Evil 4.
For cooperative games, the title goes for Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance (I play with my gf)
Party Game to use when Casual Gamers visit: Pac-man VS. (It is worth buying the gameboy just for this game). If you don't have a gameboy then I would go with Tetris
Party game to use for more involved gamers: Timesplitters 2 or Gauntlet
I just recently bought a gamecube and the only games I've played on it were both the remade resident evils, resident evil 4, and best of all metal gear solid twin snakes. Metal gear solid games are the best on the market in my opinion.
P.S I also own both metroids, Zelda Wind Waker, Tales of Symphonia and like all the popular gamecube games but haven't played them yet so I might have a different opinion on best gamecube games later on in the year.
5. Pikmin 4. Zelda : The Wind Waker 3. Tales of Symphonia 2. Skys of Arcadia Legends 1. Baten Kaitos
Animal Crossing and F-Zero GX were great too.
But the world of video games is becoming sadly in decline. In the music industry, there are always great independant bands, original stuff, like with the movies, but video games are not considered as "real art" but should be.
I gotta warn you, Bob. Wind Waker, is a neat game, but gets tedious and is not even close to the vastly superior Ocarina of Time. Metroid Prime is an entirely different game than our beloved side-scrolling masterpieces of the past. Prime has some major flaws and that involves the scanning… you have to scan EVERYTHING. On top of that, there is no traditional analog strafe/look control… it’s very annoying, at first… and never felt quite right even after I mastered it. It’s not a very intuitive control scheme, but you can get used to targeting and moving in a target-centric manner (like Wind Waker).
However, I will give kudos to Prime for an intelligent investigative story progression (which I could never bring myself to see to the end)… and Wind Waker for its Disney quality animation and art direction (which I saw to the somewhat lack-luster end).
I like the GameCube for its four-player madness-type games.
I’m hoping my GC purchase will pay off when the new Zelda comes out.

I rented Zelda: WW, and I'm wishing they didn't try to have a real plot. Zeldas I-III dove right into the gameplay, and they're some of the best video games ever.
It's great to have a plot -- if you're good at writing plots. Nintendo isn't..they're good at action.
I finally navigated out of that dull part at the start in your own village, and I'm hoping they focus more on gameplay, and that the gameplay is as versatile as Zeldas 1-3 later.
I'll make Skies of Arcadia my next rent.

when you begin to play at Skies of arcadia legends, you just can't stop. It is not a perfect game, but i liked the gameplay so much and the fact that you're a pirate flying in the sky makes you feel like a real adventurer. There is so much things you can check for and discover (subquests).
...but why nobody talks about Baten Kaitos? (i repeat myself again...) There are like 5 RPGs on the gamecube but nobody cares about that one??
I suggest to everyone to buy these player's choice games at 29,99$: F-Zero GX, Super monkey ball 1 & 2, Pikmin, Animal Crossing. YOU CAN'T hate these games. Specially Pikmin!
1. The Wind Waker. Still the best GC title, gorgeous graphics, great gameplay and the sailing is a Zen-like experience
2. Metroid Prime / Metroid Prime Echoes Beats any console FPS, even though it isn't actually a FPS.
3. Super Mario Sunshine I played Rayman, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Dexter and still Mario is funnier and better overall.
4. Resident Evil 4 Not Gamecube's best title, it gets too repetitive after a while, but it sure is a great game
5. Prince of persia - The Sands of Time Beautiful.
6. Animal Crossing Writing letters doesn't work and you remain an outsider, but it is so funny and charming that you forget about the weak points
7. Medal Of Honor - Frontline The first good FPS I played (after the boring Dooms and Quakes), still my favorite WOII game
8. Eternal Darkness Original and disturbing, far more scary than RE4 and the Silent Hill series
9. Splinter Cell It's a shame that the follow-ups Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory aren't that good ported to the Gamecube, but the first Splinter Cell is good enough for not wanting to buy an Xbox (only for a few games)
10. Metal Gear Solid - The Twin Sakes It can be frustrating, the trial and error, even more in this game than in Splinter Cell. Right at the start of the game it gets pretty difficult. The beautiful cut scenes are a big contrast to the (otherwise good looking) overall graphics of the game.
I didn't include Beyond Good & Evil in this list, because here in the Netherlands you're only able to play the French or Dutch version, the Dutch voice acting is terrible...just like watching a dated Kids movie.
Viewtiful Joe is great in an artistic way, but I suck at this game, never got far and besides the great graphics and presentation never really liked it.
The Zelda editions I have two discs. One bonus disc from Mario kart Double Dash with all the Zelda games except Link to the past. And a bonus disc from the Wind Waker, with The Ocarina of Time and Master Quest. Although the Ocarina of time is my all time favorite game, it doesn't belong in the GC list, playing it on the N64 is far more enjoyable.
nobody mentioned baten kaitos because it was soul-crushingly terrible. and the kind of terrible only a game that could have been awesome is. maybe if you turned the sound off you could ignore the horrible voice acting, but the plot is still written by someone with autism
and fire emblem:POR is now easily in my top 5

The only games I've actually played on my gamecube which I've had for a long time were RE4, Fire emblem POR, MGS twin snakes, Super Smash Bros., and metroid briefly so I've had a pretty good experience with it so far. Too bad Xbox 360 is too awesome for me to play anything else.
