did you beat ocarina of time? it has a better story / immersion quality than any other game I've played except for half-life, but it doesn't really pick up until you beat the first three or four castles. read a faq if you have to. zelda games have always been pretty difficult (x-cept Waker) and that turns people off.
anyway, so maybe everybody doesn't feel as passionately as I do about it, but seriously, gamecube has the best games. and the graphics are far superior to ps2 (at least much smoother)My housemate had to buy three $200 Ps2s that broke in the same way because they're so f-in fragile. they didn't make the laser secure enough and they get these disc read problems. it'll break if you stand it up sideways for long enough, like they advertise on the box (or used to). And $30 more to play DVD's on an xbox? until it gets more halo 2s I'll wait. Gamecube games are rarely over $50 and very often sold for $20 a month or two after release. I can't wait for paper mario 2
granted I'm pissed squaresoft stopped working with Nintendo.

I have beat Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask three times each. They are good, but the fact is that they arent Gamecube games.

If Gamecube is the worst console, how come we Cube-ites have the highest ratio of classics to bottom-of-the-barrel dreck in terms of games available for the system? Ha! Shove that in yer PS2 and smoke it.

Oh, and Brian - not as good exclusives huh? I draw your attention to Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart, Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX, Resident Evil 1 and Zero (and the forthcoming incredible-looking 4), Viewtiful Joe, Harvest Moon, Pikmin 1 and 2, etc. etc. All clearly terrible games and not worthy of anyones time...

kiddie games. mario's, pikmin's, pokemon's etc...oh, you mean fun games?. yeah, stuff that. i demand to be irritated by the likes of Tomb Raider:AOD, Driver 3, BMX XXX etc...
get a freaking reality check all you 'mature' gamers... you play games to bring out the kid in you.
My opinion is that the x-box is the best console on the market. It's the most powerful and the hard drive is the best. (try playing Burnout 3 with your own soundtrack) BUT I also have a cube. Alright they may not release a whole heap of games for it but a lot of the titles are classics that you will NEVER find on another console. At the end of the day why do some people get so attached to a certain console? At the end of the day I'm a GAMES fan not a fan of just one certain console. If a games good fun I don't care what shape the controller is in my hand.

I couldn't have said it better myself!! If you want the absolute best that the world of computer gaming has to offer today there's no way around it: You need both a Cube, PS2, X-Box and a PC. Sure it's gonna cost ya but unfortunately it's a fact!

Gamecube is #3 but not by much if you are just after having a good time playing Fun Games. There are more than enough fun games on all the consoles, and sometimes you can have too many titles (some of which are not as good as others, eg. PS2..the system with the most games). But the essential reasons for the #3 rating have been mentioned in above posts: limited 3rd Party titles, lack of internet support in almost all games, and the Ports sometimes are purposefully made poor compared to the PS2 and Xbox versions . Potentially, the Gamecube port should have been made to be the 2nd best version behind the Xbox, but it always falls 3rd best & sometimes more Buggy. Even the Xbox version is sometimes a poor port of the PS2 game . (thus, PS2 and Xbox always go back and forth for #1 and #2, since they get the 2 best ported versions of the game)
But honestly despite the #3 rating, I still have fun with the Gamecube . And thats why all three systems are very close in the FUN FACTOR!! We are all lucky to have all 3 systems along with PC gaming (don't forget, the PC games can look much better than all consoles on a descent system and HighResolution Monitor! So the PC deserves Praise for Gaming !!...if only they didn't also get bad ports of console games like the cube... )
hey i think who ever made this forum is an idiot game cube is the best xbox comes out with a game 1 time a year if it wasnt for halo xbox would be dead and ps2 is the most faulty system i have ever played it takes a hour to load and it scratchs ur game. T CAT

First off, this is not a forum where you can call people idiots, this is a nice forum. Secondly, PS2 does not scratch your disks you do, the loading times are due to the gamemaker not the PS2, maybe if you didn't have scratches on them it might help. Gamecube was made for people who like Nintendo games, you cannot play Mario, Pikmin, or Zelda on any other system. They also have F-Zero which is a pretty good racer. Thirdly, Xbox may have fewer games, but the games are usually much higher quality than PS2 and Gamecube, as well as the fact of how much better the graphics are on Xbox. PS2 is the most diverse of the group combining both average graphics, DVD capabilites, and exclusive games. Another issue is online capabilities, Gamecube has, pretty much, none to speak of, PS2 has Online for free but it isn't very good, and Xbox you have to pay to go online. I shall not take sides on this one I will just tell you that your point might come off better if you were polite and proof-read your post.

Good Job Mike,
And also sccrcat23, it might be easier to read your posts if you used periods once at the end of sentences. In case you don't know, the period (.) key is towards the bottom right of your keyboard in between the comma (,) key and the backslash (/) key.

This Forum Was made to make some Constructive Reasoning for Gamecube's #3 position in the Gaming Console War. This thread is not made to anger in any way the "pure Nintendo Boys" like "sccrcat23" . Maybe a better thread would be--- HOW CAN GAMECUBE GET BACK EQUAL 3RD PARTY SUPPORT AS PS2 AND XBOX and get back complete internet support?. IF that happened then Xbox and Ps2 may feel a little threatened. This is the only reason why gamecube is #3. Otherwise, they might have been 2nd place behind Xbox or a 3 way tie for all of the systems. The real idea is that anyone who owns either of the 3 systems is a winner, versus those who don't own any of the systems. There are so many good games on all 3 systems, that should be respected by all "pure gaming fan boys"!
Another setback for the "Cube" is the fact that Nintendo is portrayed as a childs company where as Sony and Microsoft "appear" more broad due the fact that they are both into the personal computer business. If Gamecube got better with its online play I still don't see how that would help, it is far too late in the game to do that. After all, everyone is looking ahead to PS3 and Xbox2, not at the "Cube."
