RESIDENT EVIL 4 - CHAINSAW CONTROLLER PREVIEW
I have been asked at times to write more previews on products coming out for the gaming systems. I have been trying to not only write more previews but actually a review on the products whenever possible. I could not help but at least write a small write up for this new controller. Yes, It is a little disturbing it also has a special sound chip that will make the sound of a chain saw when the vibration motors go off. Now we all collect special items from things special to us and sure RE has a huge fan base. So I guess it makes sense to own your very own bloody chainsaw controller right?
Before you laugh this off while this may not be a huge seller here in North America. At $49.99 it is a hefty price for just a collector's item. The real kicker is that this little controller is selling like hotcakes over in Japan and in the UK. I have a few friends who are paying twice the price $90.00 or more for this thing and wanted to know if I would send them another. It seems some fans of the series really want to show off that they are fans. While limited edition controllers are not new it now seems to be the latest rage. Sony's PS2 Street Fighter controllers are also selling fast and it seems most of the buyers are in the UK and Japan. Well, it sounds pretty steep to me but then again I have my own collectables I buy so I am the last to knock anyone that would buy one. As far as I know it is not made to enhance the controls of the new RE game it just has that look. Take a look at the few screen shots I was able to get for the controller. It looks nice but again $50.00 dollars is rather steep for something most would buyers would just leave in the box. If you want to pre-order one they are being released in a few weeks.
Press:
Designed with an actual Chainsaw lying in the middle of the R&D lab during brainstorming sessions, this sculpted controller comes with a built-in sound chip, imitating the roar of the powerful weapon. The attention to detail goes as far as having gory blood marks on the blade. When not chopping zombies into pieces, the Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Controller can rest on its display stand, on top on your TV or trophy case.
