Predictable Bill defines religion like any smart bigot would: by its worst and
most outlandish representatives. That is the movie. Roll credits.

Notes:

Is it too obvious to say the same can be done to pretentious rationalists or any
group of people ? Apparently for a certain Bill nothing can be too obvious and
still not register. But here is where the humor kicks in. His hypocrisy is so
over the top that you wonder if this isn't some subtle exercise in self-mockery.

You can't excoriate religious nuts for their ignorance while behaving like one
your self. He is an unfunny apostle for non-belief, showing himself and his kind
to be in league with the very religionists they so fear. That is some weird
symmetry.

I'm a big fan of Bill Maher and an athiest on top of that.

But really, I set my bar for Religulous too high. Maybe because it was done by the same person as Borat? I dunno; but there are better religious critiques out there.

I gathered this from the few previews I'd seen of it. I'm glad to see not every skeptic/athiest is in the same frame of mind, but there are quite a few that parade around using these same examples to prove their point that religion is "bad and for the ignorant". So there are probably a few who would disagree with you, I'm sure.

"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

Hi? Anyone seen 'Jesus Camp'? I think it could be the best produced religious docu-movie yet. The music production is amazing and the whole feel of this movie keeps you watching. You really must pump up your sound system for the best impact. I don't believe in anything except blood; you pass on your blood and you live on in your children. The Bible is a great handbook for preserving the planet; or would be if anyone followed the rules. The deadly sin of greed is having it's usual effect right now. We break all the other rules because of greed so I guess the whole scripture could be reduced to 3 words; Avarice is deadly. Wanting God to exist is also a form of greed. 'Jesus Camp' is about brainwashing children to, "get America back" after slaughtering 250 million Red Indians to take it in the first place, then loosing it to the richest religion ever. This docu would be great to take cuts from and remix. I hope someone checks it out; I'd love to hear what other people think about it.
