DON'T SEE IT! It was a terrible film. Probably the worst I've seen this year. It raises a few interesting ideas, but doesn't build on them at all. Plus the plot is so stupid, and the acting is horrible. The jokes aren't funny at all. This movie would only be enjoyable to the very most spiritual of people. I am a quite spiritual person, however I still hated it and was bored to death. It was lucky to get the 37 metascore that it did.
If you are interested in the ideas that the movie brings up, see "I Heart Huckabees" instead. A much better movie based around simillar ideas, but much funnier and with decent acting.

I agree exactly. Though I dont think it is the worst film of the year, only because of the idea it tries to put forth, it was very bad. It has a good concept/ or shall I saw concepts, some that I believe in. The films was mish mosh of many concepts tied together by a little string. If you are unfimiliar with the concepts, you will learn almost nothing when the film is over and you will probably be asleep. This was the closest I ever got to falling asleep in a movie theater. So many parts of it dont make any sense and are so unexplained that you just can't make sense of anything. So, I would definitely NOT recommend it to anyone, unless you are very, very spiritual and want a educational, boring and weird film to watch.

I'm curious to know myself after seeing the movie. lol. Well, its pretty much about a bunch of different ideas and theories swirling into a story about a def woman and her life.
1. They talk about the theory that the world is only how you see it. The world looks different through everyone's eyes and if something that you couldnt believe in is in front of you, you may not see it.
ex. Native Americans didnt see Columbus's ship even though it was in their view for hours. Until they saw the ripples without the ship, their eyes started to see it.
2. They had some ideas of sexual attraction and the relation between a man and a woman and what they think about when they see eachother.
3. Than they start talking about science and how when you bounce a basketball the atoms of the ball actually never touch the ground.
They also had many other theories that scientists and philosphers spoke about. It was all very confusing. I couldnt understand some of it, and trust me it isnt because of my age level. It just was very confusing so I might have percieved some of it incorrectly.

Most documentaries have a central premis, around which the ideas revolve. This docomentary(?) sounds very interesting, and something that I would be interested in (...the nature of reality and all that) but what is the hook on which they hang thier theories? They've been showing a documantery down these ways on the telly called "The elegant universe" which talks about some similar issues to the ones so far described. It is an excellent show even though it is a bit heavy going (and mind boggling).

Here's a factual mis-conception for a start. Maybe the reason Native Americans didn't see his ship was that Colombus never got to the mainland. He only made it as far as the Carribien, and surrounding islands.

Actually, he mispoke with that example. It wasn't the Native Americans, it was the Native Carribeans or whatever you might call them. It still doesn't make any sense. How the fuzz could they have any possible evidence to prove that this event occured??

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm the one who put it here since, to my best judgment, this is where it belonged. Remember, there's a the REAL Metacritic, which either might answer your questions through Critics or through Users. YOU can always check them out. This is a partial fiction film and a partial documentary, so I picked a place, and this is where I picked.

Marlee Matlin is a photographer who has suffered a emotional destruction of her relationship and detests doing weddings now. This part documentary of interviewing some of the most brilliant scientists, mystics of our contemporary age along with a scripted plot opens up new possibilities about reality. Using quantum physics, science is now revealing how we and individual people have more control over our environment than was ever thought possible. This leading edge movie is very applicable for addictive behavioral therapy. I don't believe that most people watching this movie understand the nature of the movie or its intentions. The whole idea of putting this movie together was extremely difficult and there was no real intention of making a polished dramatic movie. This is an educational, motivation film experience that should not be judged on its cinematic merits as much as the ability to capture something every difficult to grasp in terms of physics, biochemistry, and physical addiction. Taken in this way, this documentary-drama is a light, cute romp into the physical world of the fantastic, but real science of the very small that is now beginning to demonstrate that we as people have great power over the universe, tapping into a almost spiritual realm.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It is not a documentary. I can't think of what genre to put it in. If you like philosophical ideas, you will probably love the film. If you are looking for more typical characteristics of cinemagraphic greatness--character development, plot, cinematography, etc.--, you won't find it in this film. I saw the film months ago when it was new. Many people at the small theater where I saw it were actually taking notes during the film. I returned to see it a second time, and saw many of the same people there again.

I called the Salt Lake Film Society (1-801-321-0310) and confirmed that What the Bleep do we Know will be playing in Salt Lake at the Broadway this Friday at 7 p.m. However, according to the local independent newspaper, City Weekly, this premiere is the same movie except more like a director's cut.
