Ya it's cool Rob, but anywase about the movie...It looks amazingly stylistic and closey relates to Sin Cityish(though without any big name stars, which Sin City had).

Who or what is your source? "I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

Sorry for any confusion. I was just answering Mike's reply with a crack of my own but, since he obviously deleted his, I deleted mine. My original question was to ACQ80 on where his info came from that "300" "wasn't very good..." "I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! 300 best ever? Well, based on the reviews, I think we can put that idea to bed and tuck it in and let it sleep.......

However, due to lack of competition, it for sure is the best gladiator-type movie released on March 9, 2007

Aha! Someone agrees! Nya-Nya! All you others who want to talk crap on this most excellent of action flicks! "I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! Oh man, Monkey_Boy, I'll go arm in arm with you to see that film 300 times over if necessary. Well, maybe that's stretching it a bit, but you get the idea. I'd say the latter half of the movie makes up for Kingdom of Heaven, Troy, etc. which took away from the real reason we go to see movies: muscular dudes chopping up other muscular dudes in style. Forget all those 10 hour epics filled with folklore and feelings and whatnot, this hacks through these pansy dansy notions with big flaming broadsword and asks for some more. GODDAMN. If this doesn't get an oscar for adapted screenplay, film editing, or visual effects, I will be deeply disappointed.
Note: After seeing this movie, I hit up the gym and lifted for an hour, even though I'd just lifted before the movie. That's how "Grrrr" I was after seeing it.

I'm in the same mindset there, Tyler! I came home & wrestled with my 9 year old nephew because I was so pumped, & I just got out of surgery on Monday! Then I had to come here & do about 3 or 4 posts talking about how GRAND this experience was! Believe it or not someone started a '300...Ewwww' thread down in the Action/Adventure catagory. You bet I had to put in my 100 cents! I also agree about an Oscar. At the very least, for Cinematography. The way it was shot & the way the colors were used in this movie were beautiful! "I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! I hated this movie, which is hard for me to say since I wanted so badly to love it. The look of the film was initially quite impressive (expecially the static shots (I felt the battle scenes got too carried away with the stop-and-go motions)), though halfway through, the novelty of it all seemed to wear pretty thin. Not to mention that I got sick of hearing them yell "Sparta" so damn much (the count is upwards of 70... seriously). But anyways, after the effects aren't doing it anymore, it's got nothing to go on anymore. The dialogue is laughably bad, the acting is atrocious, and the writing is generally very poor. I think the film's fatal flaw though is that it just takes itself far too seriously. Near the end of the film, the theater was filled with barrel laughs and howls... I'm so sad... I was really hoping for something special here... This is definitely NOT the best movie of 2007.
