American Ganster was absolutely wonderful. It's my #1 this year, followed closely by 'Darjeeling Limited"-highly recommended.

Updated list:
1) Into the Wild (9) 2) *No Country for Old Men (9) 3) Assassination of Jesse James (8) 4) *Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (8) 5) Zodiac (8) 6) *Michael Clayton (8) 7) *Gone Baby Gone (8) 8) La Vie En Rose (8) 9) *Lars and the Real Girl (8) 10) Eastern Promises (8)
Close Calls: The Bourne Ultimatum (8) The King of Kong (8) Rocket Science (8) The Darjeeling Limited (7) Rescue Dawn (7) *American Gangster (7)
Perhaps it's just a matter of taste -- I just don't think Grindhouse is as good as any of the films above (even though the fake trailers were incredible)

FYI guys, I work in a Movie Theater, so I'm really involved with movies, if the movie is playing everywhere, you can ask me anything about it, and I can give u my honest opinion.

Still have not caught Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, but I think it will make it somewhere on my list.
This list makes me incredibly sad that I missed Gone Baby Gone, because everything else on here made my list... It was between that and Mafioso, and I had to go with the one I thought I might never again have the opportunity to see. Now my end-of-year list will be sad, though...

I LOVED it -- even more so than No Country for Old Men.

Ridley Scott magnificently directed the American Gangster.

Really? I saw this last week, and I thought it was just okay. As I said in another thread, it reminded my of a lot of different movies, but didn't seem to out-do any of them. I certainly didn't see anything magnificent about it.

Nice name! I went to see No Country For Old Men on Sunday and it blew my mind. The novel is spectacular and even though I had a good idea of what was going to happen in the film, I was still left awestruck. The best movie of the year as far as I'm concerned.
