Grindhouse is my favorite movie so far in 2007. Death Proof i thought was a great movie, albeit it did have a lot of dialogue. Planet Terror was absolutely wonderful as well. Zodiac is apparently really good. I need to see that soon.
My favorite comedy this year is Knocked Up. I think its probably Apatow's best work.
I may or may not have gone to graduate school in the "Inland Empire" (Claremont, CA) -- it all depended on who you asked. Needless to say, the official "definition" of the region is debated a lot...
Most people say that the IE encompasses the metropolitan region of SoCal east of LA and Orange counties (San Bernardino and Riverside counties), though to others, the far-eastern parts of LA and Orange counties are often included.
Regardless, I loved the movie, but I saw it last year and counted it in my 2006 list. I can't wait to pick up the DVD.
Zodiac is still unquestionably my favorite movie so far this year. I can't even listen to "Hurdy Gurdy Man" anymore without getting the chills. Jeepers.

I think the year 2007 has a lot of great movies. Almost every weekend, my boyfriend and I are watching the latest film.
Here are my list of best movies 2007 1. 300 2. Transformers: The Movie 3. Die Hard 4.0 4. Bourne Ultimatum 5. Spiderman 3. 6. Shrek 3 7. Hair Spray 8. The Simpsons Movie
The pickings are rather slim at this point in time...I guess I have to hope that the cramming of excellent films at the end of the holiday season will make up for most of the crap I've seen these past 9 months for 2007 releases.
The only two 2007 American releases that I think are worthy of making my Year-End List are "Zodiac" and "Hairspray."

Saw it last weekend. Great surprise. I don't think the previews or the reviews I saw do it justice.

Eastern Promises while not among the top movies of the year so far, has made it into my top ten movies. This is a good movie, but I just have a number of movies that I enjoyed more. Updated list to come.

I'm 'Out of the Loop,' so to speak, concering movies this year. The only decent ones I saw were Hot Fuzz, The Simpsons Movie, and Knocked Up but, of those, I like Hot Fuzz the most. The only film that I truly intend on seeing is the critically acclaimed double-feature Grindhouse.
