I thought this movie(movies) was mind blowingly great. This film is better than 300 thats no comparison, so I don't see any other competition right now. Not until Spider Man 3, Pirates 3, or Transformers comes out. But right now today, its the best movie(movies) of 2007. I think I'm the only one but i thought that Death Proof was better just because I love Tarantino dialogue, but Planet Terror was still awesome.

I enjoyed them both. You can't really take one over the other. I wouldn't want to see just "Planet Terror" or just "Death Proof". They equal each other out. In "Planet Terror", you pretty much have non-stop action & pus. In "Death Proof", you get to relax a bit before even more action takes place, with the intital crash & then the following chase. I don't think I would like "Death Proof on it's own, but teamed with "Planet Terror", it was wonderful!
Alot of people complained about the dialogue on "Death Proof", but I thought it was funny & it wasn't tedious or boring at all. If anything, it built up the tension because you know that something is about to happen... but when?!

yes, i dont understand why people talked badly about Death Proofs dialogue, I loved it, just the feeling of seeing an awesome movie and knowing that you had a whole other movie to watch, and that it would be equally awesome, was just a great feeling, it was the most fun I've ever had at the movies, the faux trailers had me rolling, "Don't" was hilarious, i just absolutely loved that movie

I hear they're going to be making a feature length movie on "Machete". I was truly hoping they would make this a series of movies. They could have an assortment of different director's & unlimited story ideas! If Hollywood could do 8 Freddy stories & an ungodly amount of Jason flicks than doing these should be a walk in the park since the stories wouldn't have to have much depth. Just action-packed hilarity !!!!

I also feel the same way. I had stated in other threads that Death Proof is a better film because Tarantino was actually trying to make this a seriously good film while still drawing influences from all of the Grindhouse movies he had seen. Tarantino has so much movie knowledge in him and has seen so many films, that when he makes one he remembers the absolute best parts from those to create a nice little gem. How good was that car crash where he showed camera shots from the point of view of each of the passengers? Leaving no doubt that all easily died.
It seemed to me like Rodriguez moreso wanted to poke fun at the type of genre that Planet Terror was modeled after because some parts were so outlandishly unbelievable. He knew what he was going for but instead of trying to refine it, he let it all hang loose. That's not to say that I didn't like it--because I thoroughly did--but I do prefer the Tarantino flick over it.

yes, i totally agree with that, Rodriguez's film wasn't as much of a movie as it was just there to mock Grindhouse films, while Tarantino made a great film.

Sorry to show up late to the party, but I finally caught GRINDHOUSE on hotel pay-per-view while on vacation in sunny Florida. PLANET TERROR was terrific, and I'd love to see it expanded, but DEATH PROOF was a fart.
