My first attempt at starting a topic, hopefully it won't be a waste of time. I've been thinking a lot lately about individual lyrics/lines, so I thought it would be fun to start a topic for lyrics we enjoyed this year, whether or not we enjoyed the song or the album.
For instance, from the Strokes new one: "I love you more than being seventeen." - Evening Sun (terrible song though) also: "My feelings are more important than yours." - Razorblade.
From the Arctic Monkeys: "There's only music so that there's new ring tones." - A Certain Romance. "Bet she's delighted when she sees him / Pulling in and giving her the eye / Because she must be fucking freezing / Scantily clad beneath the clear night sky / it doesn't stop in the winter, no." - When The Sun Goes Down.
I think this is a good idea for a thread. I don't know of any good lines yet, though, because there hasn't been much of anything good come out yet. I'll be on the lookout though.

Bonzob, "A Certain Romance" is my favorite song of 2006 so far, and you've already posted my favorite line from it. However, this one should not be ignored, as it is the perfect closing line for the album.
"Over there there's friends of mine/What can I say? I've known them for a long long time/And though they might overstep the line/You just cannot get angry in the same way" - Arctic Monkeys
I just remembered a good line from the Swearing At Motorists album:
"Sometimes nothing feels better / than feeling nothing at all"----from "Losing the Battle"

Another great line from Swearing At Motorists, this one from the song "Timing Is Everything": "Why do you do what you do / you don't know / you just do."

i know it's from 2005, but I think it's way early to be speaking about the great lines of 2006. Great topic, though. From Fiona Apple's Extraordinary Machine: -"What's so impressive about a diamond except the mining" (Red Red Red)
There are a lot of cracker-jack lines in Casiotone for the Painfully Alone's new album.
"& since September I've been 26 years old she's still the only one besides my dad who's ever said I love you Creedence"----from "I Love Creedence"
"couldn't make rent again or are you in trouble deep you're a stray dog with fleas & your sister agrees you've looked better son
hey Bobby Malone it's good to have you home a couple months on the couch while you figure things out won't do you wrong"--------------from "Bobby Malone Moves Home"
Plus a lot of other great tales of heartbreak and loneliness. Probably the strongest album lyrically so far this year.

From the Arctic Monkeys: "There's only music so that there's new ring tones." - A Certain Romance.
Reminds me of that one grime punchline from... I think it was Dizzee or maybe Wiley... "In the studio like I should/Gettin' blown/This song's so good/you can have it as your ring tone."
"Throwin' ketchup on my fries, hittin baseball spliffs, Back seat with my leg all stiff, Push the fuckin' seat up, tartar sauce on my S Dot kicks, Rocks is lit while I'm poppin' the clips"
Ghostface - "Shakey Dog"

"My initial response was to sue her for defamation of character, but then I realized that I had no character."
"We think, therefore we are a bit confused" from Big City Rock's "Human." Not horribly original, but I've never heard it in a song before, and I love the sentiment.

"For I have never seen a sun who did not bury his head in the sand when the day is done"
"I've heard of creatures who eat their babies I wonder if they stop to think about the taste ... I am a creature I am surviving I want to be alone but I want your body so when you eat me, mothering baby oh baby mother me before you eat me"
Both are from "us ones in between" - sunset rubdown
The first is definitely the better 'line' as it is a one liner, but I freaking love the buildup to the baby mother me before you eat me part. And krug's delivery is unbeatable. damn
"Some days I think I'd feel better if I tried harder / Most days I know it's not true"
Mountain Goats - "Wild Sage" the opening song from Get Lonely.
